Five years ago, shortly following my divorce, I decided to pursue a career in the communications/electronics field. Within two years, I had acquired a college degree as well as three electronics certifications and was ready to hit the pavement in search of that dream job. Well by last December, it had become quite obvious that the degree and certifications were next to worthless. In today's job market, it all pretty much just gives me the right to buy a cup of coffee, so to speak. On February 4, 2008 I officially gave up on the communications/electronics field and became a taxicab dispatcher.
