The times they are achangin'

I am English, born into a country of shortages, rationing and the imperative need to recover from a devastating war. I have three sisters who were all teenagers by the time I arrived. I walked at 10 months, yearned to reach the door handles and remember the day when on my tiptoes I could just look over the edge of the kitchen table to see what my mother was cooking. By-and-by I went to university to study chemistry, got married, worked for a children's book publisher, brought a son and a daughter into the world, out-sourced my job and started my own company. These days I still cannot pronounce the word retirement, and am focussed on de-cluttering, streamlining, and going to see parts of Europe I have never seen before, which is most of it apart from France, Spain, Italy and Turkey ... not quite true, but more or less. All of which goes to explain why I live with my husband in a pretty country town in Cheshire and also have a house in Germany perched above the magnificent (but only occasionally blue) Danube in an even smaller town called Obernzell.

Friendly, interesting people with a sense of humour; reading, gardening, new places, new experiences,the big outdoors.

Brexit, and belligerant politicians. Narrow minded, exploitative, cruel and intolerant people closed to new ideas and anything or anyone not cast in their own image.

Now what are those places in Europe I have never visited: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovinia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Hungry, Iceland, Kazahstan, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldovia, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Solvenia, Sweden, Ukraine ... quite a bit to go at then ... I wonder if I can manage it before I hit 90?
