My list of favorites is a long one. There are alot of movies that I would watch over and over again, and have. Some favorites I recently watched: Shawshank Redemption, Pretty Woman, Sleepless in Seattle. My favorite Christmas movie is Miracle On 34th Street, any of the three versions!

I like 60s-70s classic rock, modern country, and a mix of other favorites. My oldest daughter gave me an IPOD for Christmas and I've just about got all my CD's transferred to it. (I'm not even going to try to transfer the old cassettes, the few surviving 8-tracks, and the cabinet full of vinyl)

Create a Lava Lamp

I read ALOT ! Favorite authors: Robert Parker, Janet Evanovich, John Sanford, Stuart Wood, Iris Johansen; James Patterson, Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver, J.D. Robb, J.D. Konrath just to name a few. I like crime/mystery/murder themes. At this point in my life, I primarily read just to entertain myself, nothing that requires any deep thought. I read just about every day and I'm a regular at the local library!

Create Your Own Graffiti

Shades of blue and green are favorites, though I also love many of the tones of brown.

Make that the plural FOODS! Don't think I could pick one favorite. I love pizza, prime rib, a good steak, chicken and dumplings, lemon meringue pie, fresh strawberries, wild blackberries, apple dumplings, and lots and lots of other things. And I love a good cup of black coffee! The food I miss the most is my grandmother's strawberry shortcake. Her shortcake recipe was one of those never written down recipes. My mother and I have tried for years and years to "duplicate" it and have tried literally hundreds of recipes for shortcake.....but have never found "the one". Actually, I like food WAY TOO MUCH ! My knees and feet were beginning to protest the extra load I've put on them the past few years, so I've recently committed to a regular exercise program (Curves) and a new diet (Weight Watchers) and the scale is starting to show some results !!!!!

proud_grandma

Proud to announce that I am now a grandma! My beautiful grand-daughter Hollyn arrived in March, two days ahead of schedule.

Thought for the day:
'Be kinder than necessary;
For everyone you meet is
Fighting some kind of battle.'

I've been married to the same great guy for almost 34 years and we have three wonderful children who are 27, 26, and 24. My oldest daughter is challenged by a very rare enzyme deficiency, but enjoys life, her dogs, and providing invaluable assistance to my elderly mother. My second daughter is married, teaches elementary school (4th grade), and lives nearby. She and my son-in-law celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary in April, but I'd say the highlight of their year was the arrival of a beautiful baby girl on March 15th. I'm very much enjoying being a grandma! My son, my youngest, is gainfully employed and more or less independent, but he's still taking advantange of "rent free" living at home! And I guess I'm in no hurry for him to move out. I have spent my working years in the medical imaging field and currently work in a physician's office. Our long time pet Pug passed away two years ago this July and this is the first time in my life I've been without a dog at home. I do currently have four "grand-dogs" that I dog-sit occasionally!

Spending time with my family, especially my sweet new grand-daughter. Keeping in touch with family & friends thru e-mail. Updating my pages on MySpace and Facebook and NOW working on my NotOverTheHill page, TOO!!!! Cooking, when I'm in the mood. Reading popular fiction. Shopping and occasionally selling on eBay. Working Sudoku puzzles. Feeding the cardinals, finches, bluejays, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and even the squirrels, in my backyard. Adding to and listening to my IPOD. Using Stampin'UP products and my Cuttlebug for making hand crafted greeting cards. Photography with my digital camera or with my old Pentax SLR when I'm feeling really, really creative (or nostalgic). I love to play video games too, but I try to avoid them as I find them very addictive.

Cancer, in all its many horrible forms.

The seeming unfairness of life sometimes.

When my household is in a state of C.H.A.O.S. (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome)

My hobbies include, but are not limited to:
Photography.

Backyard birds. I feed the birds in my back yard all year long. Cardinals and such in the winter, then a couple hundred hummingbirds in the spring and summer.

Reading popular fiction.

Handcrafted greeting cards. I make cards using rubber stamps, embossing, and paper folding techniques. The pictures below are of a few of my favorite cards.
