The oldies. We have a large collection of the old ones.
|
I like Big Band (the old stuff), Celtics, violins, Choirs, Southern Gospel, piano, light classical ....just about everything but not hard rock or metal.
|
Good mysteries Nicholas Sparks, Mary Clark Higgins, Mary Jane Clark, Anne Perry, etc.
Favorite Christian authors are Karen Kingsbury, Janet Oke, Beverly Lewis, Dee Henderson and Traci Peterson. I would rather read than watch TV

The Fall colors seem to be the ones that "pull" me the most but all color is beautiful.

I love food!! especially if I don't cook it.
My necessity is chocolate!
I love cook books and looking at cooking channels on cable and I google recipes and cooking
sites.... but I don't really like to cook.

I have been a secretary most of my working life. One of my most interesting jobs was in Southern California when I worked for Robert Shaw Fulton Aeronautical Division and worked in the security division with doing "secret" and "AEC" clearances. Our division worked on the "Pogo Stick" airplane, inflight refueling and other very interesting projects. Another interesting job was secretary to a large church in Kansas City, Missouri. Birthday Feb 12 (Me and Abe)
Married to a wonderful guy since 1950.
Three wonderful children: oldest son a professor in North Dakota - Chuck and Karen - no children.
Our second son(Larry and his wife, RoseMarie) is in an insurance office here our town and has two daughters. The oldest is Marie and she is married to Matt. They have two girls (Matti 12 and Ashton 9)and the youngest Lauren, just graduation from high school and will be going to Lee University this fall. Our youngest (Dawn) is a single Mom and has two boys (Nicholas - 18)lives with his father and Connor was 2 in Feb.
My father was a minister but Mother died when I was 8 so lived with two grandparents - one on the farm (yes, I can milk a cow) and the other in Kansas City where I went to a school where all the kids were rich and learned "how to be a lady" the highest accolade one of my "unclaimed blessings" aunt. Then Dad married again and I worked very hard to have my step-mother "love" me. Finally after I turned 50 she put her arms around me and told me she loved me! YES!!
I have enjoyed knowing Jesus Christ most of my life and really believe in prayer and the Bible. Our family is active in church

Beautiful sunny warm days (not too much humidity).
Working in my flowers. Being with friends. Playing "hand and foot" card game. Eating. Learning new things - anything! Reading. Being with my children and grandchildren. Listening to music. And of course....shopping!
|
Critical people. Negative talk. Playing golf - the putting is fun but not the drives.. especially when my husband is so helpful with a zillion and one things to do and not to do.
The growing older thing ...that keeps me from doing as much, as fast as I used to.

I tend to collect things. I just pick up one thing that appeals to me - then suddenly I have accumulated another and another... Paper Weights, Dolls, Dishes, hats, jewelry, figurines of dogs, old pictures (ask me next week and I'll probably have another one)
