MY PHOTO OF THE WEEK
Near Los Angeles there is a huge place called Griffith Park. Our zoo is there and our observatory. There is also a small portion of the park known as "Ferndell". This is a beautiful walking trail that runs along side a natural creek with beautiful exotic plants. There are also great views of the observatory from the trail. This week's photo was taken when I visited "Ferndell".

I was born and raised in Southern California. I have 2 brothers, one lives in Orange, CA south of us and the other lives in Paradise, CA in the northern part of the state. I have been married to Ben since 1980. We live in Canyon Country, CA. We have no children which was our choice. I retired from Lockheed-Martin Aerospace in 2006 after 37+ years of service. Ben still works part-time delivering auto parts around our community. I am an amateur photographer and love taking photos and sharing them with family and friends. I love to walk and hike, so I take a lot of my photos while I'm out in nature. I may have been born a "city girl", but I've always been a country girl at heart. Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to live on a farm, but at this time of life, I don't see that ever happening. I'm shy when I first meet people, but once I get to know them, I'm fine. People never believe that I'm shy. I guess I hide it pretty well. In 2007 my doctor found a lump in my left breast which was removed and thank God it was benign.

In no particular order...lighthouses, covered bridges, windmills, old barns, walking, hiking, Mother Nature, Spring and Fall, hummingbirds, butterflies, cats and dogs even though I don't have any of my own, redwood trees, being retired, scarecrows, autumn leaves.

Again in no particular order...rude people, traffic, extremely hot weather, housework, snakes, heights, cigarette smoke, people who do not have any common sense, tailgaiters, high gasoline prices, the Iraqi War and George W. Bush.

I am an amateur photographer, so I love taking photos.
I like to surf the Internet.
I like to walk and hike.
I like to work in my yard although I have a gardener who does most of the work now.
I've also dabbled in crafts like beading. Would like to do wordwork if I had room for "big" tools. Have done some latchooking and needlepoint too.
