Shades of purple through to plum. Also shades of aqua. I actually love all colours and often wear rainbow coloured accessories or tops.
Love Heals - Alison - an inspiration to us all
My Daughter Alison is 39yrs old. She has two lovely children, Aimee,12 and Cullen, 9yrs. (see in my Gallery)
A few months ago she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Grade 3 - quite agressive.
Since then she has had surgery, been back at work to train others to take over her responsibilities, and now is receiving chemotherapy.
These photos were taken on Monday 23Nov09. The day before, she had what remained of her beautiful long hair shaved off. By then, she had 'done her grieving' over her hair loss and was ready for it - complete with the wig she is wearing in these photos!
After early drama, hospitalised with dangerously low white blood cells, her treatment is in balance and she is doing brilliantly.
Alison is a young woman who loves to live life to the full, and refuses to dwell on negativity. She feels that it is the love (aroha) she receives from so many people that helps her to cope with the hurdle that has come her way. She has an amazing spirit and truly is an inspiration.
UPDATE ON ALISON - 15Feb 2010.
Alison has almost finished her Chemotherapy treatment. (only 3 more weeks to go) She has remained in good spirit and energy throughout to the relief of all who love her and amazing the medical staff who treat her. Nine weeks of Radiation treatment is yet to come.
I thank everyone who has been sending Love, Good Wishes and Prayers to her to help her through. Love to you all. Betty

Relaxing 'mood' music, Most old-time favourites which I love to hear on radio and sing along to. Quite a wide variety really depending on my mood and circumstances. Mark Knopfler ranks high, Vangelis, Enya, ElDivo, Celtic style Folk Music, Warsaw Concerto (The Depth and passion stirs one's being) -better stop there I think.

"Notebook" Really enjoyed this movie.
Italian film "The Feast" - a bit odd at times for my liking, but scenery more than made up for it. Beautiful South Italian seaside.
AVATAR - My Valentines treat with Tom. - OH WOW!! That was an explosion on the senses! The graphic treatment was beautiful, the 3D effect was Amazing! Good SciFi, so keep your logic under lock and key and enjoy the fantasy.
A good mix of Heroic, Scary and Romance with a strong moral of the effects of blind greed.

I am going to be away from The Hill for a while. I am going up north to visit some of my Grandchildren, then at home I have very important Artwork to get into. I will keep an eye on the bulletins from time to time to keep in touch.

SUMMER IN NEW ZEALAND - A lot of our summer activities center on water - Sea - Rivers - lakes. Most of us live within easy reach of one or more.
Beautiful Kaiteriteri Beach 30minutes up the coast from where I live. In Summer, packed with people and boats. In Winter serene and quiet - peace for those who live there. This is an oil painting I have done from photos I took.

Mother of 4 - Living in various places in New Zealand with one Son and his family over in the Mediterranean.

I've lived in the Nelson area for 20years. Its a great region to live in with a very good climate. After moving here, I began painting. The past 8years I have been very happy out at Mapua, a coastal town 30min.drive from Nelson.

Kite Festival, Nelson - NZ. Jan 2010
The 19 Annual Kite festival under the auspices of Rainbow Flight and Nelson Kite Club. I have Facepainted at each of these wonderful, fun events. Our beginnings were at the Nelson Market where Rainbow flight had a stall and I was nearby facepainting - rainbows!- plus Butterflies, Unicorns, Lions etc.

'Tahunanui Tidal Patterns' - This beach is within Nelson City. I love to absorb myself in the rhythmic movement of the waves during lower tides. To me this represents the symphony of life.
