Now what movies don't I like? I don't know if there are many... I like romances (of course), comedies, action movies, suspense, thrillers (no outright horrors, though). My favourite, I think, is The Notebook, though I've only actually been able to watch it once... I also love fantasy movies, such as Lord Of The Rings, and The Chronicles of Narnia and Spiderwick, etc. I find they're a good way to escape for just a little while...
MUSIC
I love the "golden oldies" from the early '60's onward, you know, the do-wap and Motown and bubble gum stuff. Don't care much for rap or heavy or "alternative" stuff. I also have a lot of more recent stuff on my computer and MP3 - a real mix! I'll listen to it all!
BOOKS
Reading, for me, is a favourite pastime. However I usually don't find much time to read when I'm at home, as there are usually other things to occupy my time. However I love to read on planes, and sometimes before bed for just a little while...
My reading material is based mostly on historical romance (no, not Harlequin!), though I do enjoy some authors such as Robin Cook and Stephen King, too. I have so many favourite books, but the one that always sticks out in my mind when asked, is The Time Traveler's Wife - it's amazing! You should check it out on Amazon!
MY FAVORITE COLOR
I love surrounding myself with the colour any way possible...
My new PINK laptop!!
.....And my new PINK Blackberry!!
MY FAVORITE FOOD
My favourite foods! Alas, there isn't just one favourite... I guess if I had to choose just one, it would be "everything".
I love all seafoods, especially shellfish, and salads - Greek, Ceasar, Cobb, Chef, Nicoise, etc., etc. LOVE steaks (hubby makes me the very BEST filet mignon)!! And chicken and pork and duck and, and...
Did I mention that I
I love nearly all vegetables!
Love, love, love cheese!
Oh, and let's not forget ice cream!
Love, love, LOVE chocolate and peanut butter ice cream!!
June 26: We left Stansted, England on June 18th, for Cardiff, Wales. It's been a wonderful experience staying in downtown Cardiff! Our hotel is only steps away from a very large pedestrian shopping mall, and I've been entertained by it all week! However tomorrow we're off to Amsterdam for the final leg of the project that started in Amsterdam on April 17th. We're going full circle before heading back home in about four weeks, give or take.
We've tentatively changed our driving vacation plans this summer, mostly because we'd love to spend more time at home than we've allowed ourselves with all our summer plans that we had in mind... We'll probably only spend a week driving, going the Sea to Sky Highway, over to north Vancouver Island, and down island to Victoria to spend a few days with family there. Then instead of driving to Saskatoon and onward to Columbus, we'll fly to both places.
We also want to spend a little time in Hawaii and Florida, in search of our winter property...
Let me take this opportunity to tell every one of you, my friends, how much I cherish and appreciate your friendships!!
Wherever we go, I'm always online, and staying in touch.
"Have laptop, will travel."
ABOUT ME
It took a while, but I finally got it right... I remarried for the second time just a few short years ago, in August 2006, to a guy who I absolutely adore, and have felt the same way about since we met in the spring of '98. He truly is the "love of my life", and my best friend, lover, confidante, sun-in-my-sky...
We have five kids, three married, one getting married in 2010, and the youngest not yet in a committed relationship.
I'm a very young Nana. I have five grandchildren, four of which are girls. I married young and had children when I was young. Our oldest granddaughter is 14, the next is 13, then 9 and 5; and our grandson just turned 2 in June. How time flies!
NOTE: March 3 update! We just heard from Meghan and Corey that we're going to have another little grand-baby in late October!
Hubby and I live in a townhouse that we've renovated to suit our lifestyle, and looks somewhat like an Italian villa inside. We got our 'Tuscan' inspiration for our decorating from our vacation in Italy immediately after buying our home.
I retired from being an Office Manager with a small company, in early 2007. Hubby and I travel around the world (a lot) for his business as a rep for an aircraft leasing company. He works, I tag along to keep him company, and to keep our marriage strong. My ‘job’ is to spend the money that he earns (just kidding!)!
What else would you like to know about me? Just ask, and I can tell ya! Seems I've always got something to say...
Finally reached goal with WeightWatchers - Oct 5/08!
OUR FAMILY
WHAT I LIKE
What I like is so vast... I like so much of everything. I see the wine glass as "half full".
I love to travel, read, spend time with my family and friends.
I like to walk, I like to laugh and make others laugh, and I like to sleep...
I like to experience some new things, even though I'm a self-proclaimed "chicken" when it comes to some things.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE
is much easier to describe...
I don't like narrow-minded, critical, whiny, judgmental people. Nor people who are pessimists, or those that just don't stop complaining about every little thing; those who won't bother to listen to another opinion or point of view with an open mind.
I don't like road rage, or people who drive slower than others in the 'fast' lane just because they're 'doing the speed limit'...
I don't like grumps..., and sometimes there seems to be a lot o' them around...
HOBBIES
My hobbies, hmmm... Well, I love to crochet afghans for my grandchildren. I'm finally finished one for Jolie, and I've finished one for my wonderful hubby... I still want to make one for my Angel, and my girls each want one. Oh, and there's one for the new baby... I think I'll be busy with them for some time...
Brittany's 'rollercoaster'
Katelynne's 'flower garden'
Jolie's 'ferris wheel'
Rick's 'man-size' afghan
I love to travel, and do that a LOT (I don't really know if that really qualifies as a 'hobby', though).
Reading is a great way for me to relax, and sometimes transport myself to another place and time for a little while...
I love a little amateur photography every now and then - I have thousands of photos of everywhere and everything!
LOVE playin' on my computer (and sometimes I even use it for 'work'...)!
I love entertaining family and friends, or just hanging with them, having a beer, or a cocktail, and good conversation...
Happy July 4th, from your neighbour to the North! Have a great long weekend!
Sugar
Thank you Sugar for coming south today and spending the 4th of July with me. I'll take you on the grand tour and show you everything I can in hopes you enjoy your stay!
