One Angel Defeated (A poem about severe illness) I once knew an Angel named Myself. She traveled like a ghost. Into the shadows, invisible to life She guarded the illumination inside me, Letting out gentle glows. The lady I met was named Illness. She lived in a damaged world, She surrounded me in endless nights And in all waking moments. She tempted me into her pale light. She was a lonely starburst, Outside the closed universe. She called to me night and day, Sending bri... Read More

I was going to go about my day as usual and try to be calm and serene. Well that was the first mistake. Get real Clydene, You ai... Read More
The temperature here is 22 degrees with a 30 mph wind blowing. Our sump pump is currently running 24/7. A few minutes ago a sizeable flock of robins, buntings and chickadees arrived and immediately began taking a bath in the running water. The little guys regularly stop by for a drink and some seeds but this is the first time I've observed so many flapping around in the water like little kids on a hot day. All seemed totally impervious to the wind chill fa... Read More
