One Angel Defeated

One Angel Defeated (A poem about severe illness)
I once knew an Angel named Myself. She traveled like a ghost. Into the shadows, invisible to life She guarded the illumination inside me, Letting out gentle glows.
The lady I met was named Illness. She lived in a damaged world, She surrounded me in endless nights And in all waking moments. She tempted me into her pale light.
She was a lonely starburst, Outside the closed universe. She called to me night and day, Sending bri... Read More

Joyful

Joyful

Joy is a sensual thing, a bond between us and the rest of the universe.  Did you know that in Japan you may be invited to a moon viewing, or a snow-falling party?  These are events at which no conversation is expected.  You merely sit in subdued but elegant surroundings and watch and stretch your appreciative abilities.  Of course, one may choose to do such things alone.  Contemplating nature and the wonders of the universe can bring gre... You may want to... Read More

MAD BANANA CAKE
Did you ever get out of bed mad? I mean rip roarin, teeth gnashing, skin tearin', jaw boxing mad! That was me this very morning. I have no idea why either. Don't remember a dream last night or anything yesterday that might have triggered this. But I was/am Mad. Not angry but mad. I made my mind up that this was not going to ruin my day. I was going to go about my day as usual and try to be calm and serene. Well that was the first mistake. Get real Clydene, You ai... Read More

Penguins aren't the only ones
Posted On 01/03/2010 16:47:57 by Jingles
The temperature here is 22 degrees with a 30 mph wind blowing.  Our sump pump is currently running 24/7.  A few minutes ago a sizeable flock of robins, buntings and  chickadees arrived and immediately began taking a bath in the running water.  The little guys regularly stop by for a drink and some seeds but this is the first time I've observed so many flapping around in the water like little kids on a hot day.  All seemed totally impervious to the wind chill fa...
