BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

I’m turning 60…6-0
Posted On 08/06/2022 21:15:29 by momtocam
The celebration is this month-It wasn’t all too long ago, or at least I didn’t think so, when I turned 30. I remember that day so well. It was a Sunday, and I spent part of the day with a close friend. I also dressed in black.
So, here I am on the precipice of decrepitude, feeling…well, not 30 anymore, but not how I would have expected at 60 either. My mindset is energetic, alive and forward thinking with a zest for learning more, living, and experiencing MORE. My gait, memory, and... Read More

Diaries, Journals, and Newsletters

It’s been quite a year, and I wish you all a Happy and Wonderful New Year! I’m sure that the past year has been similar for most of us… some ‘hav- to’ jobs, some happy moments, and lots of spare hours. As I wrote in our year-end newsletter, I did a bit of cooking, a bit of cleaning, a bit of napping, and spent many hours refreshing memories through boxes and albums of photos, writing letters, sending emails and text messages, and talking on the phone. I use my computer every day, but I... Read More

I hope you answered ‘NO’ to both of those questions, and have filled your heart and mind with grateful and thankful thoughts… for another day, for loving family and friends, and acceptance of the challenges that all of us are experiencing this year. September was m... Read More

And time just keeps marching on..

I am not sure when I last signed on.  My life has certainly changed since 2011.  I am now living in St Lous, Mo with my younger son and his longtime girlfriend.  I had knee replacement surgery on May 28, 2019 and am in the process of rehabbing my knee.  Right now, I can walk without a cane or walker but I still cannot bend or straighten my knee.  I am going to physical therapy twice a week for 6 weeks to try and get back my mobility.  Before the surgery, I was... How Things Have Changed In My Lifetime
Posted On 10/28/2018 22:51:08 by yourchoice
Recently, I was able to celebrate another birthday. I was amazed, grateful, and blessed with the many greetings and celebratory comments that I received, not only from family and longtime friends but from ‘cyber friends’ that I will never meet in person but have become precious friends, here on The Hill and on FB. When we keep adding candles on our birthday cake, we get far too comfortable in our ‘normal’ way of life. We’ve enjoyed independent living without the responsibilities of gro... Read More
