True Beauty Secrets
Posted On 03/12/2012 23:06:36 by Mrztakes
Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn
wrote when asked to share her "beauty tips." It was read at her funeral years later. For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, recl... Read More

PHONES IN THE 50's

Do you remember telephones? Foolish question? Maybe so, in these times, but I remember when it wasn't 'UNUSUAL” to not have a phone. There was no phone in my home growing up and at one time I can't remember anyone having, or wanting one. It was a luxury that few had and besides that it was a long wait to get one. Yes, I was thankful that my mother didn't have to suffer very long, and that my husband had survived, but ... ! One day, when I was sitting beside my husband's... Read More

HER NAME WAS HELEN
She arrived one day, unwanted and different. We weren't prepared for the likes of her. She didn't fit in and we were selfish. She just was not the way we were. We were young, that's no excuse, but her ways weren't what we were taught. A lack of understanding that's what it was, without knowing just what she thought. Her clothes weren't clean, her body unwashed, made being around her a chore for me. But then there was that issue of a soft heart that... Read More

DON'T STIR THE STEW

DON'T STIR THE SPOILED STEW

I don't rightly know when I started forgetting more, making more messes, or just plain started doing things backwards but it doesn't matter. I'm There! I think that is what makes me remember so well in my past when I didn't do these things. OH BUT DID I? Last Saturday I was doing my extra grooming that I do when I'm going out somewhere. Shape and paint my fingernails, do my hair, etc. Only thing about that is I'm much slower... Read More
