BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Color Doesn't Matter!
Posted On 06/05/2020 00:06:35 by yourchoice
We’re having a quiet evening, and I’m telling myself to stop planning and start writing. It’s ‘throwback Thursday’ and if I don’t hurry, I’m going to miss it. Considering the news reports that we have been watching from our quiet spot, I recalled one of the first ‘major’ happening in our young son’s life… meeting new friends at kindergarten. Coming home from his first day at kindergarten, he excitedly told us that he has a new friend, adding, “Mom, he has the smoothest ha... Read More

The Irony of Life
Posted On 07/17/2018 23:37:06 by yourchoice
There are times that a topic for a Blog pops in my mind in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping. That’s what happened a couple of days ago, after a news release in our area, that involved a long time friend of mine. It brought back memories of long ago, and how we’ve kept in touch as much as possible. When I was just four years old, my maternal grandfather gave me a piano and also paid for my first year of piano lessons. My parents were so very pleased with the gift and made ever... Read More

X - From X to Xyster
Posted On 02/27/2018 06:30:53 by yourchoice
In my opinion, the last three letters of the English alphabet are the most difficult in this challenge. In previous challenges, I have used common words like xylophone x-ray and xylitol. What’s left? To get some idea, I went to Google, and typed ‘words that start with x’! I was amazed at the huge list of words, most I can’t even pronounce.Did you know that the first word that starts with ‘x’ is X? I didn’t either! Here is the definition: X - to represent the signature of a person w... Read More

It's all about the money...
Posted On 05/07/2015 22:35:07 by yourchoice
I had great intentions to try to write a blog every week. Words are my 'thing' here on The Hill, and I have had very kind responses to my blogs and in private messages! But life got in the way of me having fun on The Hill, so I had to 'disappear' for a bit. My health is good, both of my hands are working well, but I had to be reminded AGAIN, that not all of my activities are somehow connected to my computer. Sigh! The details are boring but I'm going to try again. Today, I'm not going to te... Read More

Memories of a Student Nurse – The First Week
Posted On 02/18/2015 01:07:22 by yourchoice
It is over 50 years since I was a student nurse, but many events have been tucked away in a ‘safe place’ in my mind, assisted by the class reunions that we had every five years. Some years ago, when I was working as a medical transcriber, I was often asked by staff nurses about my experiences as a student nurse. They were university educated, with limited practical experience during their education, and were interested what it was like to live in a nurses’ residence at the hospital for thre...
