We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Golden Nuggets Plus 10 - Part 1
Posted On 02/20/2021 15:40:09 by yourchoice
Is it my turn to write a blog this week? It has been a busy time in my “office”, phone conversations, text messages, and email ‘letters’, updating my contact list, and remembering to save all the info that I’ve been receiving. My title this week may be a bit confusing, so let me fill in some blanks. This story started many years ago, on a sunny day in the late summer. A large group of young ladies, most who had just graduated from high school, had received notice of the anticipated ev... Read More

Dealing With the After Effects...
Posted On 03/10/2019 22:36:11 by yourchoice
It’s time for me to show up for a bit longer than a few minutes, just stopping long enough to check for messages. I have been “under the radar” for a bit, and tomorrow will be one week from the day I had my surgery. I’ve had a lot of rest (multi-napping has been my routine), still have a very sore throat, my bruises would suggest that someone was trying to hang me, but I’m doing very well now, without the assistance of Tylenol. Two days in the hospital gave me an opportunity to have a... Read More

R - Remembering my Residence Room

It was the last week in August, 1958 when I entered the School of Nursing. I experienced a mixture of happy anticipation and almost paralyzing nervousness as I rode in the back seat of my parents’ car. My best friend from middle school would be there. I had seen very little of her during our high school years because she attend a church school for her high school years. I had already decided that if we had to share a room with someone, it would have to be her because I didn’t know anyone els... Read More

Back on THE HILL!

It’s about time that I get my act together and get back to my friends on The Hill. It has been a busy year for me, often events that didn’t include my fun times on here on with my friends, new ones and long-time friends. Some things were medical related, and I’m back to my normal, which I am thankful for. Other activities were much more fun. I was given the responsibility to organize activities for the Reunion of my nursing class. We would be celebrating the 55th Anniversary of our gradua... Read More

B - Bed Baths, Back Rubs and Breakfast for Beginners
Posted On 11/29/2015 20:54:21 by yourchoice
It was September of 1958, and most of my nursing classmates were the same age as me, fresh out of high school and away from home for the first time. Life had certainly taken a turn.We had three weeks of classes to learn some basic nursing skills before our first assignment. In addition, we were also taught us how to properly “assemble” our uniform, and the importance of being on time. We were reminded to show respect to both the doctors and the patients wherever we met them. We still wondere... Read More
