Today is too hot, too humid, too strange, too oppressive. Only the tropical can suck this wet , hot air and be happy. Even the children are languid. The subtle breeze that brought this summer is gone. Misty fields of spring are now overgrown with summer, its lushness of spreading crops, weeds, and strange dusty green things a weird an colorful enigma. The cold winter wind is a bitter broken memory and the scent of autumn can't wedge its way into the savage heart of this heat. Cloud... Read More
seasons Of My Life Thank you for reading my ramblings. My life has been simple. No fanfare, no big accompolishments. I'm not famous or rich, or beautiful. I never made a movie or sang on stage. I'm just me, A simple country girl that grew up in the south. I ran bare foot up dirt roads and through green pastures. I had Great Parents who taught me right from wrong then trusted that I would be as they raised me.. I became a born again Christian when I was ten years old. God guided my P... Read More
It seems only a moment ago I was walking down my favorite path in the woods in autumn. There is a large stone about halfway down the path. The first winter wind has yet to cross the border fence, and autumn has not yet died, let alone been buried, yet I feel as if it has been winter forever and spring and summer never were. The snowflakes are falling and autumn is frozen and old. It's another morose late-autumn morning. A not-so-subtle downhill run into the hungry, spiritless, mouth of winter ... Read More
With the crackle of leaves under my footsteps a haunting harbinger of the cold, dreary, days ahead and the billowy, pristine clouds floating weightlessly in the crystal blue skies of October, I am reminded, once again, of a summer too-soon past. The extended autumn-winter cusp brings with it a restlessness I cannot shake and a compelling desire for reflection that I cannot ignore. More than any other change of season, autumn appears dazed and confus... Read More
