We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

It's All About Warehouse Shopping!
Posted On 01/06/2020 21:45:44 by yourchoice
Some years ago, when my husband was working on several projects in Palm Springs, CA, we were introduced to warehouse shopping, particularly Sam’s Club. We got a membership and made sure that we made at least one stop there before returning home. It was cheaper than shopping at the Mall in Palm Spring and there were items there that we hadn’t even seen at home. When Costco came to Canada, we felt right at home. The kids were still at home, I had a bigger deep freeze, so shopping in larger quan... Read More

K - Kids, Kellogg, and K-Mart

I wasn’t looking forward to arriving at ‘K’ in this alphabet challenge until last night… in the middle of the night! What do you do when you can’t sleep? I get out of bed so I don’t wake up my hubby, go to my computer (in another room so that I can turn on a light), make myself a cup of coffee and start to read. I do most of my reading on my computer now, books or articles, because the printing is bigger and the page is brighter. Reading tends to make me sleepy, and I often sleep the... Read More

E - Ed’s Enjoyable Evenings
Posted On 08/09/2017 21:52:58 by yourchoice
We’ve had a great summer… at home. The health challenges that both my husband and I experienced this spring seem to have “given up”, and we’re doing well. We’ve experienced a late spring, a few weeks of very hot summer days with no rain, and massive forest fires in the Rocky Mountains that send us lots of smoke. We’ve enjoyed house guests, short weekend trips to the town where Ed and I met 55 years ago, to visit very dear friends, and some city guys who often come to visit with E... Read More

V - Shopping at Value Village!
Posted On 10/30/2015 23:20:11 by yourchoice
My husband is hard on clothes when he is working in his shop, especially when he was working on his vintage John Deere tractor. Cleaning out old grease, sand blasting old paint, welding, and whatever else he could think of doing would wreck his clothes, so he would go to Value Village for more pants and shirts, and a jacket to wear when it was cold. While he was doing his shopping, I would stay in the van and read. I had no interest in “browsing” through rows of used stuff. On one occasion,... Read More

Plop and Fizz

I was in a store yesterday evening getting some things we needed bread being the main thing I was a little tiffed because Don waited till I got home from Church before he told me we needed bread. “Why didn't you tell me sooner?” And he starts this condescending tone that ruffles my feathers fast and says “Now how was I going to tell you when you were not here”. Oh good grief I do have a cell phone with me at all times. It wouldn't have rang in Church but a simple message would have... Read More
