BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

E - Ed’s Enjoyable Evenings
Posted On 08/09/2017 21:52:58 by yourchoice
We’ve had a great summer… at home. The health challenges that both my husband and I experienced this spring seem to have “given up”, and we’re doing well. We’ve experienced a late spring, a few weeks of very hot summer days with no rain, and massive forest fires in the Rocky Mountains that send us lots of smoke. We’ve enjoyed house guests, short weekend trips to the town where Ed and I met 55 years ago, to visit very dear friends, and some city guys who often come to visit with E... Read More

F - Frank, Fernando, and the Flex

I’m sure you are wondering why I have selected these three ‘F’ words for my next A-Z challenge. It may surprise you. Recently, a well-known sports figure has left this world. I have never said that I am a sports fan, but I manage to watch the final series games of hockey (our local team is the Calgary Flames), and Canadian football (our local team is the Calgary Stampeders). There is a Canadian Major Baseball team, the Bluejays, but they never play in Western Canada, so I muster some enth... Read More

Family event on Super Bowl Sunday

Sunday and Super Bowl filled our past weekend. I'm not much of a sports fan, but my husband and son are fans of about any sport. That's why my husband and I both wear headsets and the TV is on mute (in addition to both having hearing problems). He watches sports and I listen to music while I'm on my laptop, and we do a bit of chatting during commercials!!!Because our daughter and family live in the Seattle area, the family supports their football and baseball teams, and when we visit, we often a... When Did Integrity Become So Newsworthy?
Posted On 02/14/2014 23:28:38 by yourchoice
I must admit that during the health challenges I’ve had this past month, I have had the luxury of roaming around the Internet, and following the Winter Olympics. I have no idea about your country’s coverage, but I certainly had been “well-fed” by our Canadian Official Network (CBC). My main interests have remained about the same … hockey, skiing, skating, luge, bobsleigh. Many of the athletes have trained at Canada Olympic Park that we drive past every time we make a trip to the city.&... Read More

Yesterday was the first day of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. I had set my alarm clock so that I would wake up in time for the CBC coverage of the Opening Ceremony. We have been looking forward to this event for a long time … with a bit of nostalgia mixed in too. Our Canadian city, Calgary, Alberta, hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988 and the whole city adopted the event as our very own greeting to the world. I wonder what the long-term effect will be for Russia. Will it be... Read More
