We're trying to train our postman in sorting out the mail
And so far all our efforts have been to no avail.
What we're asking him to do is such a simple chore,
Put the envelopes with windows in the letterbox next door.
We don't want window envelopes, we like our letters plain,
Our postie might appear ok, but he's very hard to train.
We tell him we don't care who he thinks the mail is for,
If it's got a window envelope, it goes in the box next door.
He faces us with hands on hips, and whiskers all a-quiver,
And says he's got a job to do, and mail to deliver.
We understand he has a job and and tell him just once more,
That envelopes with windows go in the letterbox next door.
I think we're finally getting through, it's early yet to tell,
But I've just seen him riding past, and he didn't ring his bell,
He didn't stop at our place, as he's always done before,
But he put a window envelope in the letterbox next door!
