Friday edition

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Well, here I sit... Delilah on my lap and the new baby on the floor by my feet. What have I done??

Where do I start? lololol Let me see... first of all, I found a good home for the American Fox Hound. He is a beauty. Became my permanently attached shadow and guardian. However, he was so overly protective that he came very close to killing Houdini.

Houdini disappeared for a couple of days. Neighbors saw him at the end of the gravel road. Same neighbors had 3 G Pyrenees pups. Well, gout and all, I got into Tildy and drove the whole mile down hill to Dot and Butch's to find and drag the rotten Houdini home. First thing I did when I got in the truck was use the ball of my left foot to hit the clutch. (Oopsie! Now I am back to limping!) However, I discovered I can use the clutch if I use the arch/heel area of my foot.

OK, so I am down the road. No Houdini in sight anywhere. Turns out he was playing in the creek behind another neighbor's place. Nothing to do then but go look at the pups. (Dotty and Butch brought the Houdini home a little while later..)

Lots of elec fences around the land... " Step over, don't touch, fully charged". Well, I tried! lolol Have I mentioned how graceful I am? Maybe I'd better not. lolol Sure as hell, my boot got hung up on hot wire. There I stand on bad foot...right foot snagged on wire. Wooden posts were soaking wet... Holy Toledo! I can't/don't dare move! I am an accident waiting to happen. Well, anyway, Butch rescues me. And my boot soles, thank goodness, were made of rubber. No shocks!

Well, I am over the wire... The lone cow is talking non-stop. Cow's name, btw, is cow! I am gingerly making my way down slope and one of the nanny goats butts me on the hip. I reach around to scratch top of head and find that I have made a friend for life. lolol sort of. The adult Great Pyrenees come to check me out

Now, here I am in the barn. Three of the cutest lil pups you ever want to see. At 9 or so weeks, they weigh close to 25 lbs. I chose the little boy pictured below. What have I done?!?!?!?!?

So far, I am sorting thru names... losing my mind... and picking up chewed newspapers and mags. He has tried to eat a chair... unstuffed a comforter all over the back porch. Grabbed the caftan I am wearing so he could drag me to God knows where! He has already developed a fondness for cardboard boxes. AND, he nips with them lil tiny needle sharp teeth. A definite ouchie! If I am lucky, he will grow up to be a super fine friend and pal... I just hope that I and the rear wall of the house survive!

Take care, all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to look up and watch them BBSBs up there playing with the clouds... They are awesome.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter. meems

Oh, Paula, what you don't get into! Need to be more careful. We're not as young as we used to be, you know!

That sounds like one BIG puppy! He's going to be a BIG dog. too. And he was the smallest? He's a beauty, though. Your picture came through nicely in my Email.

Take care of yourself and stay out of trouble.
