EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

Oh dear, here I go again! lolol Still stuck inside the house even tho the snow is mostly gone. Wonder what's in the mail box... ? lolol

Well, the county had a power outage during the snow storm but not this road! The wind caught the storm door out back and almost yanked me out and over the porch! The critters refused to go out... the snow/rain mix was blowing sideways! Was really cold out too... 28 deg but have no idea what the wind chill was. I went to bed. Window open... and dogs over and under the covers. yummy warm!

Next morning, I let dogs out into the snow... all except the Pyggs. He wasn't about to wander around the snow on the back porch. Well, he decided he would go out the side door. Down the snow covered ramp... About 5 feet into the yard...started to lift his leg... dropped it... spun around and came scurrying back up the ramp! Guess who didn't like that cold stuff? I stood there with the door open just checking the area. Pyggs kept peeking around the door frame... finally decided to try it again. He gingerly goes down to the bottom of the ramp...no farther! Lifts his leg at a clay pot that lives down there and then flies up the ramp... right past me... down the hall to the bedroom... a 'giant leap' to the bed and under the covers! Didn't peek out for two or more hours! Ya suppose there was a snow monster out there waiting for him? lolol I cracked up.

Then later, I talked to Anna. lolol Asked about the turkey Elmer... how's he doing? He said his tails feathers were perking up... Summer was on the way!?! I've decided that Elmer should have been a weather man and not a farmer!

Anyhow, after telling Anna about the Pyggs and the side ramp, she starts telling me about her lil dog, the Bowser!

Now, Bowser is a smidgeon bigger than the Pyggs. BUT, he thinks he is a lion. lolol I scare him to death, poor lil guy. Anyway, Anna says Bowser was really fussing and whinning/complaining one day. She checked... plenty of food, treats, dog house was ok...Still fussing...

Now, to give you a hint, their farm has a dam and pond up the hill behind the house. There is an overflow from the pond than runs down the hill to a beautiful stone bridgelet thingy. Underground from there, under the road to the creek that we both share.

Bowser still complaining! He leads Anna around until he comes to his water bucket! Bucket empty. EMPTY!!!! MOM,EMPTY! He sticks his head in bucket... looks at Anna! Nose back in bucket! Anna goes and gets water for his bucket. Bowser is now a happy camper even tho he hopes he has now trained Anna to check his water bucket in the future. lololol Taking a while but He, the Bowser, is doing a good job of training his person. All thru this story, I am on the floor... stomach hurts... can't breath nor talk! OMG! What a way to start my day!

Ssheesh! I should have put a pic of the Barkley on here but I wasn't planning on writing what fell out of my fingers. lolol Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember this too could happen to you if you are not careful!

Many hugs and much love and loads of laffter every day meems

Bowser reminds me of our Cricket Kitty; her bowl gets almost empty she starts in sqaulling. Drives me nuts! And, then, since she's on soft food she thinks it should be out all the time like the dry food. We can't do that because of Brat Cat and Pepper Dog; they'll eat it up! Brat Cat always acts like she's starving to death but she's far from it! In fact, we're having to give them both food for weight control.
