Weeds
Posted On 03/20/2013 21:01:54 by BcoolNgreat

I think it is a problem that we all have. Why does weed grow better than the plants that we take care so much about and fuss about: spray, fertilise, water or sing to them, they will wither for the slightest strong rays of the sun and die at the first shower. But the weed, it thrives! No special care and there it is mocking at  you from every nook and corner and occupying the best part of the flower bed or the vege patch, No slungs, caterpillars or any other insect to harm them.

You remove it and move on to the next and turn around; there it is already looking at you. I don't know how they do it.

I am steadily losing the war and sick of singing " Where have all the flowers gone"! I should be singning" Autumn leaves" even in the summer! Makes no difference.

I have decided to grow weed (period)! It's the only way I can win- I think.

One Man.s weeds are abother man's flowers... BUt i'm with you on this. they seem to proliferate quicker than flowers or other plants. Maybe if they were brightly coloured it wouldn't be so bad.

"Weeds are just plants growing in the wrong place' lol Well, most of my weeds here in FL are from Africa. Maybe because we are a port city. The things they hate are plenty of water, good soil, and fertilizer. One good thing, if you find one you like, such as a pretty vine, the less you do for it the better it grows. I make mine turn back in on itself when it sends out those curly 'attaches to anything' feelers. I guess that comes under...if you can't beat um, join um ... literally :-)

Awwwww come on now...weeds can be beautiful. As children they were the first flowers we picked from the hedges to give proudly to our Mums.

My husband and I wonder the same thing. By the time we get all the little garden spots weeded it's time to start all over again. But we did find a product that works pretty good; it's granuales you sprinkle on. I pour it on, works better. It's called Preen. It can be rather expenseve but it cuts WAY back on all the back-breaking weeding. One has to use much more than it says and it doesn't hurt the plants or grass. Be sure to water it really good when you first put it on and keep watered, as needed, so it will keep working.
