EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME. Get out here on the porch and grab a seat... get comfy. Little cloudy maybe but it IS a little warmer than it has been. Got into the low 80's today... and a nice breeze out of the west.
I spent most of the morning on the phone...doing this and taking care of that. I called Faye, a friend just to chat for a minute or two. I always start out our conversations by telling her that I want her dog. A little dachshund, mixed color, and poor baby is deaf. His name is Buckeye. Her reply is always: "No, you cannot have my dog but you can have my husband" I come back with "nope, I don't need another man! I've learned the hard way that men are too hard to housebreak and train!" We both crack up laffing... then we go off to other topics.
I happened to mention that Buckeye might just be a little bit spoiled????? Nah! But then Faye tells me about a time when she and her hubby were both flat on their backs with the flu or sumfin. Buckeye had plenty of food and water. About midnite this one evening, Buckeye started fussing, bouncing off the side of the couch where Faye was. He wouldn't stop... Hubby, asks what's he want? Faye tells him that Buckeye wants some bologna! lolol I can just hear it now! Hubby gets up... goes to the fridge... aha! the Bologna. Hubby gives it to critter... critter dines on his favorite and peace reigns supreme. Now, you tell me is this is one spoiled rotten dog? lololol I rest my case!
I have an oh dear ... third pic is of Delilah who is obviously investigating the drop off on the far side of the bed. Well, Delilah is a mommy again. I now have at least 3 kittens residing in my bedroom closet. Two tigers and a black... Eyes are open and they were not happy when I grabbed them to check them out. lolol One of them hissed and I cracked up. 'Lilah was sprawled by my thigh while I brought each kitten out into the light. I'd pet her and she just stayed there. She trusts me with her babies... Big compliment, thank you very much. The black kit's fur is black on the ends but the inner (root base) part is a pale gray. No stripes. Does anybody know if this coloration has a name?
And finally, I've completed all the paper work for the USDA and readied a copy of all to send to my rep in Congress. May I mention that I really, REALLY hate this? I cannot tell you how stressful this is? No warnings that this would happen. I ought to send them a bill for the stress, time, paper, ink, postage and effort that went into this! I wonder what it is that the USDA doesn't understand about the word "retired"? Bad girl, Meems! But I have discovered that I was the poster girl (the first) for the elderly. Oh yeah! Just remember ALL of you to keep all the paperwork...and I do mean all!
Guess that's it for now... Take care all of mine and go in safety always. Remember to appreciate the small fuzzy warms that come into your life. They will give a great inner peace.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter meems
