EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here and dry off... coffee's hot and I have the makin's for several types of tea. Am I being nice or what? Bite your tongues, Brats... The Marv, Sherri, Doc... Ooopsie, I will run out of space in a hurry if I start naming all of you out there...lolol I CAN be nice once in a while.

The Marv is at it again... Making notes in his log book about my minor goofs... This time it concerned how long I've lived here in this house... lolol 13 years? I lied... lolol I finally decided I've been here 8 years next month? Doesn't seem like that long. The only reason I can remember this date? Three people were shot and killed just about the time I went past the driveway which went down over the hill... off Rte. 30 on my way in to town.

Another time, again on my way into town. Heading toward Rt. 30, I made a left off 1503 onto the road to take me where I wanted to go. It wasn't till I tried to get home that I found a roadblock at the church. A man had been murdered... Again, at/about the time I went past earlier. Is it any wonder that I go packing all the time? Cops were looking for the shooter and had a 5 mile perimeter set up. Guess whose house what inside the perimeter???? You may have 5 guesses here but the first six don't count!

And now, we get to the ticks! Saw the first one in January of all things. Fair warning from Mother Nature things were gonna be bad this year. And, they are! Poor Houdini ... he has been covered with them already this year. I check the critters out whenever they come back in the house. I found one overstuffed tick on the floor the other day.

Being the curious soul that I am, I brought it back to the apartment and started checking it out under the microscope. I flopped it over on its back. Interesting things started to happen. Tried to upright itself. I swear, it looked like it had a built in hydraulic system. One side would deflate while the other bulged.... back and forth while its legs were flailing. Also the lower half of the belly would inflate/deflate. Nothing helped it apparently cause it was still on it's back when I put it into the jar of paint thinner...Now, aren't you glad you read this?

Guess that's it for now. Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember to always be prepared. Bad things CAN happen to good people and there is nothing we can do to stop it! And DO say thank you to all the emergency responders all over the world. PS. Dispatchers, I was with you all the way!

Many hugs, much love and some lafter daily... meems

Poor dogie, I have two and have already put on the tick/flea meds. So far I have not seen any but I know they are there and waiting. Hate those things, they are just so darn ugly. Well be careful there, sounds like a lot happens for sure. Have a nice day.
