Face it, let's be honest. There are times when you want to know how to make friends, and you may be reading this because you are shy, unsure of how to approach a person, or maybe you are just not confident because they may not react the way you would like them to. If you have some steps and tips to help others overcome these obstacles to making friends. Please share... Many are just not as creative, or able to start their Blogging..... thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope I have others that will particapte.

Mona,
I have to say that I am very happy that you have replied. I like your saying about Dr. Laura so fitting... Bless you I will take your advice and go a knocking on doors and if it so turns out to be a new friend. I will be happy if not I will continue to enjoy my travels.
Thank you again,

Pat

Barb wrote some excellent suggestions to help find your way around 'The Hill'. As a "helper" on The Hill, I have often encouraged people to just wander around, and don't be afraid to click on anything that is "clickable"! You won't wreck anything.

I have always enjoyed checking out the people who have been chosen to be a Featured Member for a week. After all the years I have been here, I meet people who have been on NOTH as long as I have, and I've never crossed paths with them before. I visit their page and if I would like to stay in touch with them, I invite them to join my list of friends. If they accept, I try to start a conversation (in private messages, not comments). If the conversations continue, I have a new 'pen pal'!

Not every choice works out, and that's fine too. Keep looking for new and interesting activities available on The Hill. Everyone has their own circumstances and interests ... and their own opinions! To quote Dr. Laura ... "We don't have to like or agree with everyone, but we need to be polite!"
