Surprise! I Have Something To Say!
Posted On 10/08/2018 23:09:51 by yourchoice

Once again, I’ve been a bit absent from The Hill. It seems that I have been getting distracted by some annoying personal requirements that needed more of my attention. At one time, I thought that there would be much more leisure time when we officially retired, but that has proved to be incorrect.

The newsworthy events that occurred in our area the last few weeks have kept us home more often, and given me time to do some ‘catching up’ on things I love to do, including activities on my computer. I’ve been wandering all over The Hill, and have become involved in ‘Buy and Sell’ local sites to try and ‘declutter’ our home. Things sure have changed in many areas. All the stuff that we have saved to pass on to our family members are no longer needed or wanted. I still have and treasure items that belonged to my parents, but what do I do with them now?

Speaking of things that have changed, I have something to say (are you surprised?).In my wandering around 'The Hill', it seems that there are members on here who don’t agree with the rules and guidelines set out by the Owners and Staff of NOTH. Some have even suggested that they could do a better job if given the opportunity. I have been a member since it was started more than ten years ago, and have met many people who are now very special cyber friends. We may never physically meet, but have enjoyed learning from each other. I’m wondering if those who are unhappy with the setup and rules of NOTH are still here?

There are so many people here who have moved forward from this introduction “I got this computer from my grandson, and I don’t know how to turn it on!” because they have received instructions and suggestions from helpful Staff and many Staff Helpers. This is not a site of ‘experts’; much more like a bunch of people who now have Internet “Pen Pals”! Many of my friends have left ‘The Hill’, some for personal reasons, and some because of personal experiences here.

In my personal opinion, I recognize and appreciate the Owners and Staff that we have!

Thisis a good post. i am just learning my  way around this site. i can't seem to go right back to a page I found on my plundering several days ago but it is still fun to click on all the buttons until I find what Iwant. Rveryone that has contacted me here hasbeen very patient as well as helpful. There will be some people on every site that find fault or take offence . WE do them no good to leave thoe that are willing to reign in their emeotins so that they can hear the feelings of others in order to make this a better world. WE cater to their stupidity by allowing them to chase us away. Therefore I do not look to leave a site just because there are people that assume I am pointing fingers at them or some such monsense. I just want to find friends that will accept me and what i post as my opioion you seem like a kindred spirit in total control of your facilities . Good for you. I don't know the people or the problems here so I hope I only run into people that are like you. Great to post uch good compliments for the owners.

'I have passed things to family members, only to be disappointed to see it didn't mean so much to them.   I could kick myself for letting it go!  However I have to let all that STUFF go and keep my memories!

I am so grateful to have friends on "The Hill" that are so willing to assist me with some of my stupid questions!  So many things that I can not remember how to do, and then go "OH thats right"  A lot of procedures have changed and it is like starting all over!  Some of the members started when I did and were no wiser than me, BOY look at them now! You know who you are!  Keep up the good work, you are truly appreciated!

I do not envy your decisions?

I have moved several times. Downsized each time.

I will sometimes, ask where is that? Oh sold in yard sale !

Or gave it away.

And I will be honest with you.

I really don't miss any of it.

It's in my past.

There is No material possesion that I can't live without!

As for family keepsakes?

All that is important to me are their pictures.

My opinion:

Less is More.

Good Luck

It's nice to see you back, Mona. We've missed you.  I hope your health is ok & that you will be back often!  Had to smile: yes,  we need to 'de-clutter' too--but don't seem to get around to it!
