momtocam latest blog tweeked me to write about my friends with whom I had lunch with  yeaterday.  We have been friends for over 30 years ,living in the same neighborhood and sharing March birthdays. We decided many years ago we would celebrate our birthdays by going out to lunch.

Over the years many things interruped our plans. The illnes of our husbands, Mothers, fathers the deaths of all of the loved ones and then our  times of illness. COVID raised its ugly head and again plans were put on hold. But we still talked about our Birthday luncheons we were going to have. GUESS WHAT!  The Day came. We took our masks off, ordered take out ,brought it to my new retirement cottage, ate amid laughing and remembering fun times and finally having enough food left to enjoy another meal later. 

Now we are planning to not just wait for bithday luncheons , we are giing to have lunch together any time we want too. Life will pass us by and we could miss all the laughter we shared yeaterday. Friends  are wonderful.

Nice idea my friend.  It's a blessing to find a sincere and caring friends in the net,  Eventhough we dont meet personally, I treasured them with all my heart and thanking GOD for his gift .  I wish I am living near you to enjoy the precious moment with you. Sending Hugs and Kisses your way.

Long time friends are a gift to be treasured. This coming May, we are looking forward to our 61st anniversary reunion with my nursing school classmates. We are still connected through letters, emails, text messages and telephone calls, and the 'sisterhood' is still very strong. There were 91 in our class, and we lived in Residence for three years, learning together, working together, and socializing together. We still treasure the friendships, no matter where we live.

Wonderful you finally had lunch with your friend. Covid sure interupted things. I have a friend who I was meeting once a month until Covid. This Winter has been so brutal we've decided to wait until Spring gets here and start our monthly meetings again. I suggest if possible you meet once a month for breakfast or lunch. Speaking of March, my birthday is also in March. Happy Birthday to you!
