Thank you for this!  I think I have everyone of these except for the Hoverfly in my backyard!  I do try to get rid of the Carpenter Bees!

You're welcome Greg, I saw this posted on FB and thought it worth sharing.  Lynne, I love your suggestion about the sugar water. I'll have to try that.  We have noticed the bees drinking from the hummingbird feeder lately and we have never seen that in all the years that we've had a feeder.

One time I had a wasp on the bathroom window ledge, Beth.  It looked like it was on its last legs.  So I mixed sugar and water, put it on a saucer and offered it to him.  It started to drink it.  After a while, I opened the window and it happily flew off.  So guess that works with other insects besides bees.

This is helpful to have, esp in Summer. We have ALL THESE yellow stripey things. I'm careful to not kill honeybees or bumblebess, since they play a crucial part in our ecosystem.
