When I was born in the Kingdom of God,
Only a babe in Christ you see.
He took me gently to His Breast,
And spoke kind words to me.
He told my father how He loved me,
What He'd planned my life to be.
He was the best friend I had,
He's more than a Mother to me.
While walking through lifes journey,
Not knowing where to go.
Tho as a child I stumbled,
He'll take me through I know.
He guides me with His gentle voice,
His face I cannot see.
I am so small beside Him,
He's more than a Mother to me.
When discouragement over takes me,
And clouds grow black over my head.
Then I go to the book that He left me,
And find the last words that he said.
He tells me to pray without ceasing,
And thankful for everything be.
To hold up his blood stain banner,
He's more than a Mother to me.
He's gone to prepare a mansion,
One I can call all my own.
Here on earth I haven't much,
But, Heaven is my home.
The place will soon be finished,
Then the smiling face I'll see.
Of Him who loved me more then all,
For He's more than a Mother to me.
