My Best Friend

I'm not a writer of prose nor a poet

but I need to say:

Thursday, October 16, 2008, in the early afternoon I held my Best Friend, Fellow Traveler in the journey of life in my arms as she left. This coming spring, shortly before spring vacation it would have been 50 years since we met. Best Friend, companion, confidant, soulmate, lover, wife, mother of our children, it was a wonderful joyful journey, wouldn't have wanted to miss a moment of it. At the moment I'm saddened you had to leave, but someone always has to lead the way in new adventures. Lead on love, I'll follow when I can. Until then I have a wealth of wonderful memories and experiences to fall back on to enjoy and comfort me.

Love, Hugs and Kisses Forever.

Brian

You said it all so beautifully. The only bad memory I have of my husband was how he did have to suffer before it was done. He promised to have a little white house with black shudders and a picket fence ready for me when I got to where he was going. He is waiting for me and has just went ahead as your wife has done also. He's not that far away it's just I can't see him. When our time comes they'll be there to take us. Hugs~Deb

Deb, I'm so very happy you understand em, fortunatly, as far as I know from what she told me, she had little physical pain except when she had to walk a distance. I'm so very happy for you. Hugs and great future happiness to you when you arrive where you are going. Brian oxoxox

Since we have been married 51 years that really touched me. I always wonder which of us will be the first to go.  I ask God to let the strongest survive but it's in His hands. I am so grateful you have great memories, nothing can replace them.

Good, Bad, or Indifferent, those moments can be come one of your most precious possessions in  an instant. Guard them for all they are worth.  Take care, Brian

Several years ago I lost my spouse of 35 years.  He was only 56 and had been ill for nearly 15 years.  As his health declined the last few years of his life, we had many talks about what might happen once he was gone.  He often reminded me that the best way to honor his memory would be to continue on as the best parent & grandparent I could be.  With their father gone, my children are now closer to me than they have ever been, and we appreciate each other even more.

In your sorrow, try to remember that you are needed more than ever...to be there for your children.

I try to be there, I try very hard to be there. hugs, brian

A lot of marrigaes today could learn a lot from a person like you.  My heart goes out to you, I wish you well.  May God bless and keep you happy in your years to come.  Thank you for sharing your tribute.

Thank you for your heartfelt comments, I did not have any other recourse but to post these. I had them in  my About Me portion of my profile and felt it an appropriate time to move it without loosing them. I can always visit often and be as emotional as I need. I love your page. TC Brian

What a wonderful thing to say.  I can't tell you how deeply that touches me.  Remember, Brian, you two shared more than many will EVER share.  She will be waiting for you and have things all planned out so when you are ready, you will just fit right in.

Thank you for your kind words. I wrote this and sent it out, with the exception of our two sons whom I called as soon as possible, to notify our family and  friends of her passing that day. I did follow up with calls and personal contact, but this was the original means I had to use for notification. I jsut had to let my feelings show, I loved her so much, but was happy she went without much pain. Thank you again for your kind words. Hugs, Brian
