Yes, today is my birthday, not my real birthday, but here on the Hill. It was one year ago today that I joined NOTH. I'd heard about the other social networking sites but thought to myself that I didn't want to be with a lot of "kids." Now I'm here on the Hill and with "kids" my age!
A friend of mine who is a member told me that she thought this was something I'd like, so I joined and looked things over. To be honest, I did nothing with it for some time. I thought it was difficult to navigate, and what was with all this friend stuff??? I put it aside for a time, came back on occasion, but for a long time couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to stay or not.
I like personal challenges, and thought to myself, "I'm going to master this one way or another" and now I'm so glad I persevered. Now, you can't keep me away from this site. I just have the best time here, and have made some wonderful friends. I experimented for quite a long time, trying to change the background on my page, I had oodles of graphics to use, and finally got it all figured out. Anytime I saw something different on someone else's page, I'd go about trying it on mine if it was something I liked.
The music player, the graphics, having my own page and most of all the friends have certainly enhanced my daily life. I now wonder why I thought this site was difficult to navigate, as I found out, it surely isn't!
I am part of a group of women who have been together for more than 6 years and we are a tight little group. The site we were on was closing, the new site offered at the time was not what we wanted. I was already a member here and liking it here, so I brought all 9 of the rest of them here, and we have our own group again. That way we didn't loose our closeness and ability to be together. It's wonderful.
I'd like to say to TC and Eightball, "ya dun good" and "THANKS" for providing this site. I have always trusted their judgement on different products, they've never steered me wrong yet, and their stationary is always a good choice too.
Now, off to explore new directions....have a good day here on the HILL, it's been nice to meet all of you and thanks for being my friends!.........Ellie
