My sister lives in rural part of Bolivar, Missouri and around 9 AM Friday (May 8) a tornado hit one of her large garages they just had built over a year ago. (one of those three bay ones with extra height so they could get a truck with a camper shell in it) The tornado uprooted one of her large walnut trees in the front yard, took the roof up and set it back down on her husbands shop and damaged the roof of their house. Blinding rain kept them from seeing anything but flying metal. Her house seems to be intact except for the roof and they already had someone come and put tarps over the heavily damaged roof areas. No electricity or phone service except cell phones so they spent last night in a local motel. She is in a daze and said she felt so helpless. Neither she nor her husband were hurt and that is great comfort. Hopefully, the insurance people can get to work on the damage and they can get life back to normal soon.
My sister is not in good health and I do worry about the stress this is putting on her and hope it gets handled soon.
