I love a good scare - being put on the edge of my seat - working through a good psychological mystery - being enriched by a family tear jerker - and being turned back into a kid for an afternoon.

I am very eclectic when it comes to music; I love most everything. Though, rap can cause me to turn the channel in most instances, and some speed metal or acid rock - can make me nauseous.

I love to read the classics, but I enjoy a good fantasy novel or informational text book as well.

The best Mom on the Planet.

My updates here are few and far between, but I am striving to keep my Facebook page current with news bits, so feel free to visit me there.

I also have a Livejournal page that I use as a diary, it can be found here.

I am white by definition, but my soul is 100% red (Native American). There are several Native American branches running through my Family Tree (both Cherokee and Choctaw), and I have been working diligently since I was 13 years old trying to officially document it. I am SO close to having that accomplished; it is just a matter of time. As a result, I have become quite knowledgeable in the realm of amateur genealogy.

When I was younger, my Mother told me a story about a little bobcat cub that she had seen. She said that it looked at her as if it knew her, and after I was born she saw those eyes again. Since that time, I have taken GvHeUsti (guh-hay-oo-stee) "Little Bobcat" as my Native American name, and the Bobcat as my main animal totem (they have been frequent visitors throughout my life). I hope someday to be an official member of a tribe of my ancestors.

In 2001 I had an emotional breakdown that was brought on by stressful events in my life, combed with chemical imbalances resulting from thyroid disease. Gradually over time, I developed several phobias and chronic anxiety. I was completely homebound for 3 years, and though I do go out on occasion now, I must be very careful about my triggers. It has been, and shall continue to be, a long road toward recovery. As an added treat, I suffer from debilitating chronic pain as a result of fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis throughout my body. I use this, as well as My LiveJournal Page, as part therapeutic tool, part diary, and part distraction.

Little Bit

Hate is NOT a family value!

I occupy my time with many interests; first and foremost taking care of the many members of my in-home zoo (those ‘with’ thumbs, and without). I enjoy reading, working on my genealogy, listening to music, crocheting, scrapbooking, doing crafts, playing games on my PC, tinkering and puttering, watching movies and TV, solving logic puzzles, and learning and exploring new things as they tickle my eclectic fancy. Ask me to pick my favorite ‘anything’ and it will depend on the day and my mood. With one exception; if you ask who my favorite human is, there is only one answer, my true companion and husband of almost 14 years, ka7ple.

I am (according to my kids) a gnome. Not the little garden gnome with the pointy hat, but the short statured tinkering gnome of gaming lore. I must admit to the resemblance; both physically and otherwise. My first memories of gnome behavior are that of taking apart our family toaster so that I could see how it worked. I believe I was around 7 years old, and my comment upon my Mother's entry into my room was, "Isn't this neat!?"
