A couple days ago I decided to try a new place my neighbor has been telling me about for years, Lewis Butte.  Wow!  The flowers along the way were dazzling, nearly knocked my eyes out!!

So today I did the hike again, specifically for the purpose of hiding a geocache up on Lewis Butte.  Good thing I went this morning when skies were blue, because since then a front has rolled over and it's raining like crazy.

I wanted to embed the pictures into this post, but if that doesn't work out I'll post them in the gallery.

Here goes...

A busy little bee along the way.

The dazzling display of wildflowers reminded me of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz

What makes this season so beautiful is the contrast of snow covered mountain backdrop to the wildflower meadows.

Finally, looking back to the south down our Methow Valley.

It was a great hike and now I can hardly wait for someone to head up there to seek out my geocache!

What a beautiful place for a hike. I'm so glad that you were finally able to get out on the trail. I love the photos.

Thanks, Kay.  I'm energized by the advent of spring!  Local trails keep me and my camera busy while waiting for the mountain trails to become accessible again.

For those like me who don't know what geocache is,

Welcome to Geocaching

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.

sounds like a lot of fun.
