Not really sure where to post this...but I'll give "here" a go. I have embedded music on my Layout page...and for the main part it plays. Every now and then it goes on "holiday"...and gives up. Today is one of those times...yet I know it's still there as I can view my Page from my Vista Laptop..and it works just as it should. But from my XP HOME desktop PC, it goes on strike every now and then. I run SPYWARE BLASTER...ESET NOD 32 Antivirus....and SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY. ESET is the newest addition and have run it for several months....but I don't think I can blame this software as it was happening prior to installing it. I previously ran TREND PC Cillin. The other 2 I've had for years. I also have IE 7.....having returned to it after some issues that I didn't appreciate much with IE 8 and Layout codes.

 At present the only thing I can do is to system restore to a day that I know all was okay. I did this yesterday....and got it working again....it also worked early this morning...then later in the morning it did a disappearing act yet again!! I rolled back to Thursday and all is well again. I won't hold my breath though??

 Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may interfere with the embedded music code and how I may overcome it....pretty please??? I'd be ever so grateful.

Sometimes the place we get the music  from has problems. But if it worked on lyoru other computer, that apparently isn't the problem.

A lot of us have discovered we really like AVAST (free) antivirus. That and 'Malwarebytes anti-malware' seem to keep things in good shape.  SO if you think it might be that kind of problem..it woudlnt hurt to try those.  (just remember you can only run one antivirus program at a time, so if you want to download Avast, you have to uninstall the one you're currently using).  

One more thing.   I found that if I have an embedded music player on my page...I lose my 'comment toolbar'...& people have to go to my Guestbook in order to leave comments; so I dumped the embedded player.   I've gone back to using just the NOTH music player.   But it's up to you. A lot of people use embedded layers with no real problems. Some have the problem I did--& just don't worry about it.

Thankyou Dianne,...in fact I do have AVAST on my Laptop Vista...and all is okay there...but as I said earlier..I am doubtful that ESET is the cause, as it was happening with Trend PC cillin as well.
