Awesome to be here!!!! Thanks so much Eva for starting this group!!!!

As a newbie to PSP, (I have PSP X), I have been doing online tuts wherever I find them. One recent tut said to select the "lighten" blend mode. Mine is set to normal with a checkmark beside it. Clicking on the little arrow next to that box shows no other options. When I click next to the layer itself, I get a screen with a "Blend" tab at the top. There is a box in that screen that says "normal" and the drop down list doesn't give me the "lighten" option, or any other option, just Normal.

I am guessing that somehow it is locked? I cannot figure out how to unlock it. I went to the help file and did a search on Google. The help file talks about all the blend modes and what they do, but doesn't tell me how to access them LOL.

Can someone please tell me how to unock all the blend mode options?

Moonifa  psp image   see where I have put the arror check see if that is pushed..... when I push it I get no blend modes to select from or show up...... as you see I had hardlight selected before I clicked that button it's called edit selection I think.....  does this fix it for you...

Hi Eva! That didn't work either.LOL  I even tried a new adjustment layer and clicking the "general" tab. I couldn't get anything more than the "normal" choice there either. I tried clicking on the word "normal", when it would drop down hoping to unselect it but nothing is working.

I am going to do a more extensive Google search and see if I can find anything. The program works normally in all other respects, so I don't know if an uninstall/reinstall would fix it.

Thank you so much Eva for all you have done. You are awesome, and I look forward to this journey in PSP!

Hey Eva! I bit the bullet, (well not literally) LOL, uninstalled PSP and then reinstalled. I immediately opened an image to activate the layers palette and voila! All the blend modes were there LOL! What a list and what fun to see what they all do.

Now to go restart that tut I was doing that needed that Lighten blend mode.

I is a happy camper now!!! Yeppers. Like a duck on a june bug I am!

Be blessed Eva!  Hugs, Moonifa

That was what I was going to say try next..... but I don't like to uninstall/reinstall unless all else fails like for you.... sometime get corrupt file for no reason...

I do hope after you uninstalled you went to c/program files/Corel and deleted the pspX folder before you reinstalled as it's left there but empty....also reboot before reinstalling again.. I won't say who but she knows who she is if she read this..lol.... She uninstall/reinstalled pspX several times before I knew what she was doing.... she had lot pspX folders...had keep clicking open open to get to where the pspX files were....

I wouldn't worry if you didn't delete... doing one time would be only one folder... But the folder for psp is left every time one uninstalls PSP is my point trying to say....
