No. No problem in the 2 hrs I've had my PB account open. I do use Microsoft Security Essentials--which does seem to catch any 'real' problems.

Maybe it's a 'false positive'-- or...maybe it's one of those 'pop ups' that pretends to be a virus alert. if so.. DO NOT click on it to 'get rid of' the virus!    Open your Avast manually & scan...see what it comes up with.

You can also run Malwarebytes Anti-malware & SuperAntispyware--which should get rid of it, if it's just an 'adware' thing, trying to get you to 'buy/use' their product. Good luck & let us know what happens!

Thanks Honey, It is OK now. I had made a film of the snow this morning and uploaded it ti Photobucket. Everytime I tried to watch it I got the Avast warning which I aborted the page. I just opened Photobucket and viewed the film just fine so don't know what it was. Maybe just a glitch.   Thanks for answering.

Just wanting to say that i opened photobucket  around 5:00 this evening and i also got this  alarm  from AVAST  stating that  i had a trojan but not to worry just press the abort button and avast will take care of it.  Maybe it is just a glitch i hope you are right.

Then I guess it's an Avast 'glitch'/problem, etc.  Still nothing with MSE.

I'm still having trouble with Photobucket. It wasn't Avast this time. I got a pop up saying This Program has ben reported as being unsafe. Cancel and return to your home page.  What in the world is going on?

What were you using at the time? Photobucket isn't a 'program'...just a site.   Again, it sounds like one of those 'fake pop up' things. DO NOT click on it!   Click alt+F4 to close it out.

Check under TOOLS (upper right part of Internet Explorer)--click on 'pop up blocker settings' (after making sure you've got 'pop up blocker ON')--I've got mine set to MEDIUM, which blocks most automatic pop ups.

It said this site has been repoprted unsafe and I exited. Sorry I said program. I have contacted Photobucket and asked them what is going on. I can't even upload graphics and it is annoying.  I always think where there is smoke there is fire so I'm staying away until I get an answer from Photobucket. Two different warnings is too much for me to trust.

If I were you...I'd check my pop up blocker.  Most of the time, it's pop ups--I've gotten on many diff sites...even ones I know are ok.  So sometimes I set my blocker to HIGH.   As someone else posted in another Forum, most of the time the pop up warnings arent actually 'meaning' the site you are on--like PB--but has to do with the pop up ads.

Thanks Dianne, I set my pop ups to high. Meanwhile I got this reply from photobucket that I'm not sure I understand what they want. Maybe you can help.  I do have a malware  program.

Please reply if you can with a screenshot of the Photobucket page you are/were on  along with a copy of the view-source of the page in your photobucket account you were on when you received the virus or malware alert.  This will help us in identifying the culprit if it has to do with content on our site.

Instructions on capturing screenshot here:
1. Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. It may be labeled [PrtScn].
2. Open an image editing program, such as Microsoft Paint or Word.
3. Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.
4. Go to the File Menu and choose Save As.
5. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the image.
6. Type a file name for the image.
7. Select a file type. (JPG preferably)
8. Click the Save button.
9. Attach saved file to your email reply.

Instructions on capturing viewsource:
Internet Explorer-> Right-Click->select 'View Source'->Ctrl+A->Ctrl+C->open a word document or in the body of your email reply paste (Ctrl+V) the copied HTML source code of the Photobucket page that you were on when the alert came.

FireFox->Right-Click->select 'View Page Source'->same instructions as above with Internet Explorer.

Also, in dealing with these incidents, we do recommend that you utilize one of the many
Anti-spyware/malware applications available to help protect your computer.

One such program can be downloaded at the following link:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

We also recommend ensuring that all available browser updates have been installed for the
Browser you are currently using.

Please note, if you believe your computer has been compromised, you may have to run an
Anti-spyware/malware application more than once while both connected to and disconnected
From the Internet to ensure that you have completely removed the threat.

Thank you

Sincerely,
