I am trying to floodfill a transparant image with a  pattern. It comes up almost transparant.  I checked the opacity and it is at 100 (the default level) so that is not the problem, but when I see it, that is what I think it is because that is what makes the image transparant.  I have tried everything to make it come up like it should and can get nothing but a transparant look. What is wrong?  Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Margie

Hi Marjorie,

The only thing that I can think of is that you have Texture checked, like this:

Go to your Materials Palette and see if it is checked. If so, all you need do is uncheck it and problem solved.

No, I don't have texture checked. I forgot to state that. I checked everything I can think of.  Is my psp corrupted?  What else is there to check???

Margie, I would not think that your psp is corupted, but I don't know what to tell you to do...I've checked mine and the pattern is fine, no transparancy...If Kay can't think of something else to tell you, I would e-mail Barbara or Eva and ask them...I've never had that to happen to me...

Well, I guess I didn't look far enough. When I had my materials pallette open, the opacity was set to the default (100), but I forgot to check the opacity on the flood fill. It was set to (50). So as soon as I set  that up to 100, the problem was solved.  I just never thought to look up at that tool bar.. Oh me, I am getting too old for this stuff lol.. Anyway, maybe this will help another hapless psp user lol...Thank you ...Margie..

So great that you solved this problem, Marjorie! I'm sure there are people who are helped by this. I remember how it was to begin with. So many things to check and keep track of in this program. And as a newbie I could get stuck on such trivial little things that you could hardly imagine. Once I sat there for hours not knowing how to get back to the normal view of the workspace when I by mistake had maximised an image. Soooo much than can go wrong, smile!

Oh I have done the same thing lol.  Yes, so so many little things that you have to learn and be aware of... I guess I won't make that mistake again, now on to the next one lol..

I'm glad that everything is OK now Margie...Gees, I would have never thought to look at the opacity in the flood fill tool....I've never thought about there being an opacity for that....I've never had a tutorial tell me to change the opacity in the flood fill tool and did not even know there was an opacity for it....Gees, I'm going to go open my psp and look at that...I've never seen that...I always just changed the opacity after I did the flood fill in a new layer..I just opened psp and I was looking at the palette on the right...I thought I don't see what Margie is talking about....Well low and behold I looked up at the tool bar at the top and there it is...I never knew that...Learn something new every day....

Sure is the truth, I learned that and probably won't forget it either haha... I think with PSP, you could never learn it all.  But that is something that can drive you bonkers because I kept looking at the opacity on the materials pallette and it was correct. I truly thought that the program was corrupt lol..
