I have always been awed by the canal systems in the mid-west.  I posted a picture of the canal system from the web site http://www.canalsocietyohio.org/.  The canals run across the state and are wonderfuls sites to visit a byegone era.  If you  Enjoy the following link to a map of all the canal sites in Ohio.   http://www.canalsocietyohio.org/ohio_map.html

Thank you Sallysherbs,

I never knew that was an option.  What fun, the Ohio Canal Barge... Not as glamorous as the River Boat, but probably lots more fun!

Someday I hope to check it out.

Come on to Roscoe Village and ride a Canal Boat......pulled by a horse......it is so very relaxing........I could ride on the thing all day long (excpet there's no bathroom.....lol)..........Anyway.....Roscoe is a restored canal town and there is a goldmine of information on the canals.
