Create a really cool slide show!

Want an easy way to make a slide show (a really nice one) that you can display on your NotOverTheHill page, in your gallery, in the videos section, or even in your blog?

It's really easy. Gather as many images together as you want - and put them in a folder then visit Slide.com and follow the instructions. You can choose themes, effects, and so forth and you'll be given the option to save the file. You will be asked for your email address, but you can actually skip that by clicking "Skip this step". A code will be generated for your slideshow which can copy then paste in many areas of this site - for instance in the Forum, in Blogs, and anywhere else HTML code is accepted. (You can tell where where HTML code is accepted by looking at the toolbar in your compose window - if you see HTML then it is accepted in that particular area).

After you get your code from Slide.com, and you're ready to add it to one of your pages on NotOverTheHill.com, do what I'm doing now -type a little text. Then, wherever you want your slide show to appear, click the HTML button (HTML is the code that many Web pages are written in - in fact all Web pages have some HTML) and insert the code you copied from Slide.com into the code. You might want to learn a little HTML, there are folks on this site who can help you - or take advantage of the many tutorials on the Web. Just googlel "learning basic HTML".

Well, you'll figure it out if you really want to. Take a look below:

OK you think you're ready to create some cool slide shows? Gather up those photos and head on over to Slide.com and make your own slide show right now!

It's the easiest for sure. Lots of options..and giving them your email address is not mandatory.

Thanks,

TC

Thanks for that slideshow TC, although I am a PowerPoint person and not a MySpace professional, I must admit I am having trouble changing my picture that shows who I am.  It keeps telling me I can only have 500 px by 500px.  I have Paint Shop Pro but when I compress my pics that small they look awful!  Do you any suggestions?

I am having fun navigating on my first chat experience or whatever you call this type of thing.  Thanks for including us 40 somethings!  I have found our age group is left out of many things.  I think I have bought every software, Smileycom, etc that you have offered.  You guys are great!

Well, this was supposed to be a Smileycon...

TC, Thanks so much for the instructions on making a slide show. Did it on the first try. Not easy for somebody as dense as I am. Your instructions were so easy to follow. Thanks a hundred times over. Squirrel

Hi all,
I made an account with slide.com. I didn't use my internet provider's addy. I used a yahoo one. When you sign up with them, your slide is saved....If you have any problems etc. you can log in and re-copy the code, edit etc..I made a slide of all my friends on my list.....When I add a new friend, all I have to do is log in and click my slide, edit, and add the new friend....It automatically adds it on to my page. I don't have to go and recopy the code in again.
Works for me.
Donna

TC,

I went to Slide.com and created a slide show & then submitted under blogs, using the HTML Code, but the only thing that showed up for my blog were the buttom buttons and no show.  If you clicked on the button, view all images, it took you to Slide.com and let you view the show there.  What am I doing wrong?
