Hi, Gang,

You all must be beading like crazy, making Christmas gifts for friends, or for sale and perhaps making new ornaments for your tree or..... yes, but I miss hearing from you once in a while. I am going to try to upload a couple of pieces I finished recently for friends.

I have requests for bracelets and I am not so good at making them as I don't wear them much myself. I find them more difficult because I am not sure of size.

Have any of you used memory wire and made bracelets. The ones I have seen look pretty, but I learned on a tutorial that you can't use regular cutters on this wire as it is so tough. One thing I read said to bend the wire back and forth to break it. I can't see doing that easily. I have all the tools I need except for that kind of cutter. Does anyone know what to use?

Please post some questions and answers, please so we can help one another. Looking forward to expert help on above question.

Hi Frankie,

first of all I like all your new jewellery you have been busy.

I'm no "expert" but I have used the memory wire a couple of times to make a necklace & a couple of bracelets as well, I think I used just household pliers to cut the wire though a little hard I did manage.

Happy beading, Lyn x

Thanks for your solution with the memory wire. I didn't want to ruin my side cutters as they work so well on headpins and other wire. I will try your method when I get brave enough to make a bracelet with that wire.

Thanks again.

I would use regular wire cutters. They look like plyers but have sharp cutting edge.

Hi Frankie. You can get special memory wire shears to cut memory wire. If you Google "memory wire shears" you should get links to information about these and where to get them. One useful tip I saw on a site was to protect your eyes when cutting memory wire as it is very hard and pieces can break off and may damage your eyes if you're not careful. I had a mental image of us all with big protective goggles on, beading away at our tables, ignoring the strange looks from family and friends ..... hahaha.
Hugs and happy beading,
Sylvia

All you need is love ....
