I love those Jane Austen based movies like "Emma" and "Pride and Prejudice" and "Sense and Sensibility." "My House in Umbria" is a wonderful movie set in Tuscany--oh, and "Chocolat" in France! And "Sabrina" in both America and France (my daughter Emily is flying to Paris in a few months...how yummy that sounds!).

My Playlist begins with selections from the "Pride and Prejudice" soundtrack, after which you will find muse-worthy songs.

I thought it might be amusing to present the very first sassy sentence to Miss Austen's world class novel, Pride and Prejudice, which I've referenced in one format or another upon this profile page. Here it is:

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

And this is the last sentence:

"With the Gardiners, they were always on the most intimate terms, Darcy, as well as Elizabeth, really loved them; and they were both ever sensible of the warmest gratitude towards the persons who, by bringing her into Derbyshire, had been the means of uniting them."

I've found everything in between these lines to be most instructive. ;-)

I scarcely could chose a favorite color from among the various options. Simply note that to me, color in all times and places is to be prized for its artistic value and graphics-making potential. This month, it's pink!

In particular, Fall foods are fabulous. I am crazy about the pumpkin as a food ingredient! Whoever first thought to cover an apple with caramel is a genius. Hot apple cider on a cool Autumn evening soothes the soul as much as a cup of cappuccino!

Welcome, all of you!

A few historical tidbits...I've been married to the same fellow since I was 17 yrs. old, so we're tightly bonded, both sharing a love for music, movies, and merriment. Our preference seems to be for the company of each other; therefore, we rarely have more social engagements than we would desire. ;-)

A few developments...in September, my husband and I bought a Yorkshire Terrier puppy, and I named him Mr. Darcy (yes, after THAT *Mr. Darcy*). If you've known me for awhile, you KNOW how much I've wanted a dog--any dog. When did I ever fall in love as speedily as this, I wonder?!

A few personal notes...a dear friend in the Land of NOTH, Sandielee, once described me as having a gentle soul. Now that's a self-description I can embrace. ;-) Clearly, I'm introspective. Mainly, I MUSE a lot! And like Elizabeth Bennet in Pr.& Pr., "...I dearly love to laugh." That's a good thing, since the coming of Winter tends to bring out my melancholy side.

A few confessions...I like to do things whenever the mood strikes! Clearly, I'm easily distracted by beautiful artistry and verbal creativity, either of which can cause my attention to wander from the task at hand (ooops!). I get lost along the way, so I hope you'll understand my pace, and just *love me anyway* while you're awaiting that response. ;-)

I'm intrigued by those dwelling in faraway places, so those friends score extra points from me. ;-) My ears turn toward foreign accents and my eyes seek Old World villages; I yearn to step on cobblestone streets, follow narrow brick pathways, and lounge at outdoor cafes. Fountains and gardens enchant me (and might be hiding faeries!). I love walking through art festivals, Victorian homes, and following trails through the woods or alongside the seashore. I am mad about the sea, and sometimes wish I lived in a house set upon a rocky cliff overlooking the sea (but heights are a problem and I'm not rich enough...drat). Shall I continue? ;-)

I don't like flying...or edges of high places (the stairs?)...or monsters in the closet..or this asthma trying to run my life.

Mostly, I dislike blackness within the human soul, especially my own. But MY heart has been taken care of, thankfully--here's how:

Romans 7:18, ". . .I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out."

1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Second Timothy 1:9, "He saved us, called us with a holy calling not according to our works, but according to His own purpose."

Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

Amazing, hmm?! :-)

My Yorkie puppy SandieLee-cutedogprevents much indulgence in hobbies currently! But my books will occupy more of my spare time as the garden goes dormant--my books, NOTH, and Paint Shop Pro, always. Everything else is negotiable.

Scenes from my favorite movie...and might I suggest you start the Playlist now?

Doth Mr Darcy,the Texas tyke,

now walk tall ,Texan like ?

Doth he now, when in need of a piddle,

go all coy, want to jiggle and giggle,

like a small boy, with his toy, want to fiddle,??

exploring the riddle of his new found diddle,

wanting to tiddle and widdle without quibble,

to show off his wiggle  and wriggle

displaying his wares ,envy to kindle,

in canine courtesans,sensuously nimble.

or is his maturing ardour facing a brake,
that will make him an ''it'' and not a rake,, !!
