Time Slips Away
Posted On 08/28/2010 07:09:41 by Derrough
'Tis a beautiful still clear dawn here.
The sky in the east is just now turning to turquoise as the last of the stars fades from view before the approaching dawn.
The huntress of the sky called my name early this morning...
Ah dear Luna...
Such a siren is she, I can never resist her.
When her cold blue light shines through my window, I must arise and follow as best as I can.
'Tis early yet...
Even the birds have yet to sing the morning aria. I find myself somewhat mel... Read More

The Job I Would Have Liked
Posted On 07/26/2010 15:53:08 by kiwibarb
We didn't have a phone while I was growing up, so I was sent next door to use their phone if my mother needed to send messages. I have recently been reminded of a little adventure I experienced with British Rail back in 1993.

I had travelled up through China, right across Siberia and through several European countries mostly by train, and now, for the first time was going from London to Warrington to meet my Cousins.

I settled into a relatively empty carriage at London, but then we were descended upon by a bunch of Football Fans - apparently more than just our carriage full - returning from a mat... Read More

 Jan 2010

The Summer months, and especially January and February are especially busy for me.  The whole Nelson region is humming throughout peak summertime with events of all kinds. End of year staff picnics, Christmas events, Summer Agricultural shows, Festivals, Craft Markets  Art Exhibitions - you name it - it probably happens.
I have, for the past 18 to 19 years attended many of these events Facepainting or as an Artist, or both together.   I don't go regu... Read More

THE FALL DANCE

THE FALL DANCE
Softly in amber slippers, Fall dances round'. all green leaves quickly change colors, then float softly to the ground. Colors of red, orange, yellow, and gold. A breathtaking sight of this season. The grandeur of Octobers splendor. Such a beautiful sight to behold. Fall brings to me a smile, waving her colorful wand. Everything blanketed with magnificence, as far as my eyes can see..... and beyond.
Then just as quickly as she danced in, so does she drift... Read More
