We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

A Smart Mouth at The Age of Six
Posted On 02/11/2020 01:46:17 by texasjane
One of my biggest problems when I started school was keeping my mouth shut. Especially, if I was just trying to be funny. I got in more trouble trying to be funny than I ever did actually misbehaving. Junior High was a different story but we will save that one for another time. I am talking getting a spanking for reciting the alphabet.Does that shock you, well it shocked me too. I will give you the conversation and let you decide if the switch I had to go find and give my grandmother was correct... Read More

I Don't Want To Go To Heaven
Posted On 02/11/2020 01:44:21 by texasjane
Going with my grandmother to the beauty salon was always an adventure. The other ladies there always knew what everyone else was doing and what they were supposed to be doing. One particular day stands out in my memories. We were all greeted warmly by the other ladies. Some were under dryers, some still in chairs, and still some waiting. When I was little I had problems with my "G's" and so when I talked to God it was Dod. I have called him that ever since. I glance at the ceiling and sa... Read More

The Neighborhood

The NeighborhoodThe ground hog's announcment that we would be having an early Spring made me think back to last Spring.  I already introduced you to Mr. & Mrs. SQ in my blog "A Squirrel's Conversation".  Their story continues.    Last Spring I was having a rather blue day.  I could find no reason for it other than the fact I was tired of Winter and a gray sky.  I had my usual coffee on the back porch to watch my backyard friends.  I had very quietly sa... Coal In My Stocking
Posted On 02/03/2020 23:45:30 by texasjane
There are a couple of "coal in the stocking stories" my grandmother used to tell me.One: A proud but poor man had 3 daughters that had reached the age to marry. The problem was, he had no dowry to give them. Through Christmas magic; Sainta Clause secretly gave the family enough money to allow their daughters to start their lives out with their new husbands. He did this by placing the money in some stockings that were drying by the fireplace. When word spread abu the miracle; the custom of putting... Read More
