Fighting City Hall
Posted On 02/02/2020 04:25:39 by texasjane
I had just moved to a tiny town in East Texas. My house was located within walking distance of City Hall. When I moved in my yard had been mowed by the realtor's crew. Time passed and low and behold... it needed it all over again.I did not have a lawn mower. I had a very dear friend who pitched in and used my weed wacker to cut down the knee high grass in my yard. Time and my habit of having coffee in the morning and hot chocolate in the evening on my back porch laid the ground work for my battl... Read More

Looking out my window today at the pecan tree with the blue sky and sunshine reminded me of another day just like this one. Today reminds me of a day when I was searching for a special blue bird. Posted On 03/26/2018 08:48:51 by yourchoice
It has been quite the start to the year os 2018. Conflict, disasters, social issues, and slumping economy have grabbed our attention. But I am not going to delve in any of those topics. There are better things to talk about.>There has been a lot of talk in our area about Zeros… at least in the weather. There has been so much snow, that the city doesn’t know what to do with it. Transportation has been difficult at times, but most days, workers did manage to get to their jobs. What about th... Read More

Guess who came to visit ...!
Posted On 08/22/2014 21:54:18 by yourchoice
We had just finished our dinner this evening, and a visitor dropped by ... again, without an invitation. We thought we had explained to the wildlife in our neighborhood that they were welcome to drop by, but to stay on the path that will take them to the river, and not wander through restricted places. Our back patio is definitely a restricted area, but for some reason this one seems to think we won't notice her. Of course, my camera is always handy, and here she is ...
