Holiday Plans
Posted On 09/17/2008 17:07:12 by NurseArtist
I'm enjoying a day off again today from my nursing job.  I have a fairly fixed schedule that alternates over a two week period.  I usually work 3 days on, then have 2 days off.  I have to work tomorrow and Friday, then will have the weekend off.  It's not too bad, and at least I can make some plans ahead of time that way. My husband, on the other hand, is a long distance truck driver.  I never know when he will be home or how long he will be gone.   This is a p... Read More

They were filled with hope, concern and uncertainty a... Read More

Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love,
Time is eternity."

---Henry Van DykeDeath visited my family again last night. This time it came without warning, taking my sister swiftly in the night - without warning - with its cold, dark fingers and its awful finality. Cruel and heartless as always, it came in the dark of the night and took her from us without so mu... Read More

A New Economic Plan

The Problem
Wages are Stagnant as Prices Rise: While wages remain flat, the costs of basic necessities are increasing. The cost of in-state college tuition has grown 35 percent over the past five years. Health care costs have risen four times faster than wages over the past six years. And the personal savings rate is now the lowest it's been since the Great Depression.   Tax Cuts for Wealthy Instead of Middle Class: The Bush tax cuts give those who earn over $1 million dollars a tax cut...
