BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

Any concerns may be addressed to Admin by using the Contact Us link found at the bottom of each page. Blog Rules can be found in Terms & Conditions link at the bottom of each page.

Take a moment today to comment on someone's blog or just let them know you liked it. Maybe you can make someone smile today!

How Things Have Changed In My Lifetime
Posted On 10/28/2018 22:51:08 by yourchoice
Recently, I was able to celebrate another birthday. I was amazed, grateful, and blessed with the many greetings and celebratory comments that I received, not only from family and longtime friends but from ‘cyber friends’ that I will never meet in person but have become precious friends, here on The Hill and on FB. When we keep adding candles on our birthday cake, we get far too comfortable in our ‘normal’ way of life. We’ve enjoyed independent living without the responsibilities of gro... Read More

Q - Quinces
Posted On 04/25/2018 20:27:50 by chillipepper
Q – Quince Whenever I think of the Q letter it reminds me of the one and only Quince tree that was growing quite near the home garden. Quince is a fall fruit that grows in a manner quite like apples and pears. Back when I was a youngster every home garden had one growing, much the same as the ‘Fig’ tree. P – Parents Sadly both of my parents have passed away now. My father was the first to go in 1970.  He died quite suddenly and peacefully at home whilst sitting on the front Verandah.  My dear mother died in 1982.  To this day I miss them both very much but strangely there are days when I not just visualise them but it is as though I can hear their voices although I realise it is only in my imagination.  I feel sure that many of you can relate to what I am saying.  M... T - Tinsel, Toys, and Turkey
Posted On 12/10/2017 22:08:32 by yourchoice
I gave myself a bit of a break from writing stories. I keep hoping that others will join our fun and submit some of their stories. In the meantime, I still have a few letters to complete this round of the Alphabet Challenge, so I'm at it again!I’m sure you will have guessed that this blog has to do with Christmas. Well, part of it is but it is a story about our family, mixed together with some my childhood memories. Growing up on a farm, we made ‘do’ with a lot of things that we now t... Read More

I - Ink
Posted On 11/10/2017 22:18:06 by chillipepper

I – INKHow many of us can remember the Pen, Nib and the ‘Ink Well’  in the desks that were used in the Schools?...Along with those went the ‘Blotter’ for drying the Ink. I’m not sure what Grade I was in when we began using the Pen instead of the Pencils and Rubbers. It was about the time that we graded from printing words to Cursive…..I think I was in Grade 3.   I remember that there were two colours of Ink that we used. One was a dark blue and the other Red. The... Read More
