Old Age Is A Gift
Posted On 10/17/2008 12:23:14 by IslandBoomer
I stumbled upon this in an email, the Internet, a web-site or somewhere in cyberspace. These are my feelings exactly! I'm sure most of you have read this and I wanted to share it with those who haven't... Pedro Not that some of us are old....it's not too early to adopt this way of thinking about aging.....

Old Age, I decided, is a gift.
I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the... Read More

A Little Mixed Up...

A Little Mixed Up...
Just a line to say I'm living
That I'm not among the dead.
Though I'm getting more forgetful
and mixed up in the head.

For sometimes, I can't remember
When I stand at the foot of the stair
If I must go up for something
Or have I just come down from there?

And before the fridge, so often
My poor mind is filled with doubt.
Have I just put food away, or
Have I come to take some out?

And there's times when it's dark

Mr. Darcy's Introduction to Literature
Posted On 10/06/2008 09:32:24 by oldpaths
It happened on a rain-drenched British sort of morning, the kind of day for lingering in one's club chair with a hot drink and a fine old book. I was sitting in the heart of Texas, lost in both of mine and quite in another place altogether. With the economy as it is we all need to pinch pennys. On this blog I want to share the tips and tricks I have ran across, the recipies and household tips, and any tips you have to share.

Pride and Prejudice Concerning my Mr. Darcy
Posted On 09/23/2008 08:48:53 by oldpaths
If you've known "Oldpaths" very long at all, then you KNOW how much she's wanted a DOG-any dog! In fact, at one time, this is what I had displayed in the "About Me" section of my profile web page: "I deeply desire to add "dog" to my pets list; my husband deeply desires to subtract "dog" from any and all pet lists, real or imagined...LOL." So I'm simply stunned that if I glance away from this keyboard, my eyes can rest on a black and gold puppy lying at my feet, fast asleep.  It came about... Read More
