BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.

We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

My Pa
Posted On 02/25/2020 15:01:06 by texasjane
My mind has wondered all over today. I spent a lot of it thinking about how lucky I was to have had such loving foster parents.

My sister and I had come from an abusive home to the orphanage. My sister was very, very close to Daddy. The first time they came to the orphanage, my sister bounced into his lap and hugged his neck. I was mesmerized by the beauty... Read More

How Things Have Changed In My Lifetime
Posted On 10/29/2018 03:51:08 by yourchoice
Recently, I was able to celebrate another birthday. I was amazed, grateful, and blessed with the many greetings and celebratory comments that I received, not only from family and longtime friends but from ‘cyber friends’ that I will never meet in person but have become precious friends, here on The Hill and on FB. When we keep adding candles on our birthday cake, we get far too comfortable in our ‘normal’ way of life. We’ve enjoyed independent living without the responsibilities of gro... Read More

The Irony of Life

My parents were so very pleased with the gift and made ever... Read More

Posted On 10/16/2017 23:43:56 by technonana
They just would not understand, so you don't tell them.  You take some other incident and say that is the reason for your action.  If you were to tell them the real story, they would be judgemental and want to take action.  But that would just make things worse.  It really isn't their business anyway is it?  They have always led such a charmed life.  Some health issues but morally so upright.  They can not fathom the reasons behind your decision to keep silent.... S - Secret Sisters
Posted On 02/12/2017 18:29:26 by yourchoice
When I was reading the most recent blog from Sherry, and thinking about her questions, it made me think of my experiences that developed through a ‘Secret Sister’ program, both in our church and in our kids’ school. Everyone who wanted to participate would write their name on a piece of paper, fold it at least a couple of times, and place it in some sort of container. Next, the container was passed around and everyone in turn would close their eyes or reach in the container that was held h... Read More
