BLOGS: A blog, simply put, is something you have written, or written about.
We have a forum you can post pictures, recipes or jokes you want to share; these are not considered blogs and will be removed. On the other hand, for example, a recipe with a story about a recipe that has special meaning would be fine. Greetings to others, thank you's, etc. are not considered blogs and will be removed.

I should stop trying to explain why I’ve been off The Hill for a spell! Who cares, anyway! I spent last evening just browsing around The Hill and dropping a few ‘Hi… how are you?” messages. Blogs have always been my favorite spot to browse and I did have some catching up to do. I read several blogs by Allen… I hadn’t met him before. His subjects are diverse and I concluded that he (as I do) likes to use words and photos in his communications. I will drop by when I can to catch up on... Read More
It has been quite the start to the year os 2018. Conflict, disasters, social issues, and slumping economy have grabbed our attention. But I am not going to delve in any of those topics. We’ve had house guests, have travelled 800 miles one way to visit our daughter and family, experienced some family “drama”, and had a few sick days. To add to my frustration (my husband wishes it was never invented), I had limited Internet connection, brought to our attention every time we had a rain storm. Our provider refuses to upgrade equipment because its too... Read More
My husband’s father was 19 years old when he emigrated to Canada from Chester-le-Street, a village near Durham in Northern England. He traveled on a cargo ship from Liverpool, England to Halifax, Nova Scotia, then continued west by train, looking for homestead land. He had studied Animal Husbandry in England, and thought the only job he would ever enjoy would to be a farmer. He eventually settle in the province of Saskatch-ewan, met a lovely French lady, and soon had three sons. In his persona... Read More
