2013*2*23*EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS Saturday edition...lolol Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Come on out back here... have some coffee or tea or pop and some snacks! Beautiful day out here! My flyguys/gals have gone over. I got flashed. Another one of them BBSBs went over but it was hidden above the clouds. I saw a sunbow around the sun. And...Yes, there are such things and it was gorgeous. Lasted maybe 20 minutes or so. Wish I could have gotten a shot of it! Oh well, I enjoyed while it was there. Anyway, I decided to sit out back for a while... white plastic chair...feet propped up on a bright orange milk crate. Smoking cigar and watching the sky. I had already decided that the Gitmo was going down the back steps with me. First trip to the fenced in back yard. Well, he followed me to the edge of the porch and watched while I went down to the second step. I encouraged; I praised; I sweet talked! No dice! NOPE! NOWAY MOM! OK, so I grab him by the scruff of the neck and down the steps we go. Gitmo has his brakes on, screaming at the top of his lungs...me praising and telling him what a good boy he is. I started getting tickled... I sure am glad I don't have any near neighbors. lolol I probably would have had cops and deputyies and constables all over the place. Stormy and Houdini started doggy wrestling...Pyggs refereeing the match. Gitmo sitting back watching the goin's ons. He's also being careful to stay out of the middle of the match! lolol Now, back to the inside of the house. I never did finish about the fog and mists I was seeing outside the east window. Welllllll, How bout is was doggy nose snuffle prints I was looking thru to the out of doors. lolol I know, gross, but it's funny too. This is just a sample of the mistakes you can make when you are up all nite and asleep during the day. And the 'stash' keeps growing! Now, you tell me where he found one man's black sock? And just how did he get to the carton of cigars that I had (magic word 'had') on a shelf out of reach? I now have one missing pack running around the house somewhere! Oh dear! He has moved his blanket all around the bedroom. He can also climb onto the bed with no help! When I crawl into bed now, here he comes! Kisses and chin rubs. Paws grabbing, grinning for all he's worth. I finally drift off giggling! What a wonderful end to the day. Of, before you ask, he's almost paper trained. He is one smart pup! A short yucky puck here. I found a tick running on my arm this morning! Winter isn't even over yet is it? And already the ticks are out? Well, last year was a little worse, I found a tick on me in January. IN JANUARY!!!! It went downhill with the bugs from then on! Can you say itchy hives? Sheesh! I hope it's not going to be as bad again this year. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember if good for you to laff until your belly hurts! Many hugs, much love, lots of happies meems Tags: 2013*2*23
2012*2*22 *Friday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS WELCOME HOME DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME Another OH DEAR day! lolol Get yourselves in here and set yourselves down. Coffee and stuff all ready to enjoy. All except the unbaked pumpkin pie -lolol Now, we all know that I am mostly on midnite shift sleepwise but I am working on it... sort of... lolol Well, this morning, I rolled out...looked out the east window and saw lots of fog and mist here on the mountain. Low clouds? High humids? Who knows? Anyhow, I stagger down the hall...headin' for the kitchen! COFFEE!!!! Of course, I am stumbling over the critters... Broken field running time lolol. Let critters out. Warm up the coffee and head for the basement. The contact thingies on the well pressure gizmo isn't working right so I have to go down to play with the 220 elec contacts. I wait while the pressure builds; make sure the thingy shuts off; then go on about my business. Well, part of my business today will be to clean up the lil monster's stash of goodies (pictured below) I see a catalog, part of my plaid robe, plastic bags, a package with plant hanger, newspaper and God only knows what else! Another thing, sometime overnite, I woke, let the dogs out/in. I grab a cigar, check the mail then head for the bed. Window is open - cold air blowing in - me snuggled under the comforters - all ready to go back to sleep. Do I get to sleep? I don't think so! Do I get trompled on? Oh yeah! Do I get the giggles? Absolutely! I had 3 of them rotten dogs playing ghosty/gotcha (on and under the covers) on the bed! Over and under and behind the pillows... play growling, bouncing - pouncing up and down on this poor ol woman's body! Of course, I had to join in some just to keep things even... sort of! Lets see here... while I was looking for the pix of the monster's stash, I ran across this pic of Sam, my lil mule. I bot him for a 3 year old but when I mouthed him, he wasn't even two. Mules are a lot different than horses... major understatement here! On the day I went to look/buy him, I found him in a stall in the barn alone. No other critters nor people anywhere within miles. He'd already been worked to haul lumber/fresh cut trees. He was sooooo lonely. Well, I bot him... Had him hauled home. Now, here is a secret to getting along with equines. When you meet the first time, you breath into both nostrils of the critter. It does make a difference... Trust me, it DOES! Anyway, here he is, playing with his new toy... a cardboard box... lolol Guess I am out of here for the time being. Take care and go in safety always. Remember that joy and pleasure is all around if you just look. Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter... meems Tags: 2012*2*22
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Oh dear! Meems has been a bad girl again, still, yet! First of all, G'cutter came out to take me to the store. (Did you know I can be dangerous when I am on a shopping trip?) Purty day! Big brite shiny thing hanging in the sky? Wonder what that was? And the the half moon was hanging up there too! Gee, ya suppose we are have some kind of no-no get together up there? I saw some of my BBSBs playing in the clear sky. Very short contrails tho. Ooopsie, sorry bout that... where was I? Oh, being a bad girl! Well, when I go grocery shopping we go past the store and onward to Subway. I order lots of chicky samiches for me and the g'cutter's girls. While waiting for the wrap-ups, I checked out the cookie display. OMG!!!!!! Cookies with raspberry bits. I've died and gone to heaven. Well, nothing to do but get a dozen of them bad babies. Raspberry and cream cheese bits. G'cutter ate some, so did I and now I only have two left. (Donalddoc, you make any remarks about my diet and I will do sumfin! Just what, I am not sure but, I will think of sumfin!) And you guys ain't gonna believe this one. I was taking a bath...water running... phone rings... turn water off so I can hear if any messages. One was voices in the background. Then, nothing but garbled traffic. I finish bath... head for the phone to see/hear what's going on. First call ID was a series of letters... ? ... the next caller was Mouse, Mickey! Hmmm? No, I didn't call either number to find out who or what! I DO wonder tho how I got on the Mouse's call list....Has the Marv been up to no good again? Maybe I'd better not ask. lolol Then, I got some old pix in the mail from Bobbi. I know my face lit up when I saw my much loved horse...Seats! A beautiful sorrel gelding. Meaner than a snake...hated men. And he would bite them every chance he got. Never wanted to turn your back on him when he wasn't tied! But for me, he was different. Had the best time with that critter! We would play hide and seek. I would hide in the pump house and start calling "Hiiiiiiiii Seatsssssssssss". Here he'd come down the back path. He would walk around and around the pump house. I'd wait and slip out the door when he was on the far side. lolol Well, one day he caught me coming out the door. Ever after that, he would circle the building just once... would stop at the door and start pawing with his right front hoof. I come out crackin' up. Oh, there are so many happy memories I can tell you. Swimming? Nope. Splashing me with pond water? Oh yeah! Asking for a goody by pawing? Oh yeah! How bout scratching his belly and chest? Died and gone to heaven, him! lolol Well shoot! I got totally off subject but I will use it another day. Go in safety all of mine. Take care. Remember that even on bad days, if you look back you can find many good ones. Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter... meems |

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!
Well, here I sit... Delilah on my lap and the new baby on the floor by my feet. What have I done??
Where do I start? lololol Let me see... first of all, I found a good home for the American Fox Hound. He is a beauty. Became my permanently attached shadow and guardian. However, he was so overly protective that he came very close to killing Houdini.
Houdini disappeared for a couple of days. Neighbors saw him at the end of the gravel road. Same neighbors had 3 G Pyrenees pups. Well, gout and all, I got into Tildy and drove the whole mile down hill to Dot and Butch's to find and drag the rotten Houdini home. First thing I did when I got in the truck was use the ball of my left foot to hit the clutch. (Oopsie! Now I am back to limping!) However, I discovered I can use the clutch if I use the arch/heel area of my foot.
OK, so I am down the road. No Houdini in sight anywhere. Turns out he was playing in the creek behind another neighbor's place. Nothing to do then but go look at the pups. (Dotty and Butch brought the Houdini home a little while later..)
Lots of elec fences around the land... " Step over, don't touch, fully charged". Well, I tried! lolol Have I mentioned how graceful I am? Maybe I'd better not. lolol Sure as hell, my boot got hung up on hot wire. There I stand on bad foot...right foot snagged on wire. Wooden posts were soaking wet... Holy Toledo! I can't/don't dare move! I am an accident waiting to happen. Well, anyway, Butch rescues me. And my boot soles, thank goodness, were made of rubber. No shocks!
Well, I am over the wire... The lone cow is talking non-stop. Cow's name, btw, is cow! I am gingerly making my way down slope and one of the nanny goats butts me on the hip. I reach around to scratch top of head and find that I have made a friend for life. lolol sort of. The adult Great Pyrenees come to check me out
Now, here I am in the barn. Three of the cutest lil pups you ever want to see. At 9 or so weeks, they weigh close to 25 lbs. I chose the little boy pictured below. What have I done?!?!?!?!?
So far, I am sorting thru names... losing my mind... and picking up chewed newspapers and mags. He has tried to eat a chair... unstuffed a comforter all over the back porch. Grabbed the caftan I am wearing so he could drag me to God knows where! He has already developed a fondness for cardboard boxes. AND, he nips with them lil tiny needle sharp teeth. A definite ouchie! If I am lucky, he will grow up to be a super fine friend and pal... I just hope that I and the rear wall of the house survive!
Take care, all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to look up and watch them BBSBs up there playing with the clouds... They are awesome.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter. meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!
OK! OK! OK! Sheesh, old age is catching up with me! Thank you, all my friends, for reminding me... Sort of!
I hear from the Marv, the DonaldDoc, the Sherri, the HenryW, the ArtSan2...Oh dear, this is starting to sound like a list of USShips. No pun intended. Anyway, I just want all you BRATS to know that I really REALLY appreciate the sentiments ... Maybe, I'll need to ponder on this situation!
There's been a lot of discussion with family and friends on the benefits and needed items/apps when a person decides to run around the grocery store in a wheel chair. (By the way, I need a name for her, the wheel chair that is!)
Yup, there's a lot of add-ons needed for the chair! Let's see here... A TOOT HORN for warning people in my way on a down hill slope...or level ground for that matter.
A HEAD LITE for dark corners... I already have one of these on a key chain thingy... It has a chain and everything!
A REAR VIEW MIRROR! An obvious necessity for backing out of dark corners...also it will give fair warning if somebody is sneaking up on you... Like the Marv! I just know he wouldn't be able to resist doing a gotcha!
A FLAG and POLE so that G'cutter or Mgr.Chris can find me in the parking lot or dark corners.
Now let me think here, Oh, a satchel or a pouch of some sort... with outer pockets for the .38, a cattle prod for slow movers. An umbrella for rainy weather? How bout a cover-all for all weathers?
Bobbi says I'm allowed to paint a sign or design on the back of the chair but not on the seat. Well, ratz! Oh gee, I just thot of a biggy! A RADIO! A CB...A Police monitor... Ultra high and ultra low freqs so I can talk to my fly guys/gals. Anna says that the Feds are gonna come get me if I don't behave. Well, shoot! I think I am gonna go sit in the corner, suck my thumb and pout...or sumfin... Or I can go talk to the frog in hand...lololol see pic.
Guess that's it for now. Take care all of mine, go in safety always. Remember no matter how rainy the weather, there is always a perfect rain drop to admire.
Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter... meems
