EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*Friday*2013*8*9

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home... Y'all know where everything is... help yourselves... lolol It is hot already and ever so humid! I think I just made an understatement... and then some.

Ok, before I forget again, I just wanted to send a short message to Pogo about her reading materials... "GREEN EGGS AND HAM"????? Such an upgrade! I am so proud of you! Gotcha, Brat! lololol I absolutely fell on the floor when I saw that listed on her list of just read books... hugs...

The Marv let me know his last year's birthday/Christmas gifts had arrived... lolol One item was a wooden card file box... Instead of a name, I had "I WON" engraved on it... lolol He just hates it when I say that to him... lolol Gotcha anyway Brat... I'm ahead!

Ok, now to the pix... lolol !st one is of the latest pup/brat/rotten dog/pain in the gazitsah, 4 leggedy, when he's awake hurricane! He is either going full out or he is dead out! No in-betweens for this kid. Audrey and I spent some time swapping parrot tales... She has one named Pink and I had one who came with the name Pedro. Trust me, there ain't nothin' missing in those birds' intelligences. lolol

Now, nupup is as cute as a button but when he is awake, I get the feeling he's gonna' be as bad as the Monty for getting into stuff. I can see now, I am going to be spending a lot of time in the kitchen. With two pups, OOOOOOHHHHHHH DEARRRRRRRRRRR! And the pop cans in the next pic make an excellent blockade to keep nupup in kitchen. Now, Possum is a whole different ball game!

Third pic is of my much loved Lilyputz. I guess it's been almost a year since she passed on but I know I will see her again. Even today, I can look over to the bed and see her looking back from the center of my pillow. Best lil hot water bottle in my world. lolol

Have to ask... is anyone having trouble getting Yahoo email? I have not gotten any regular or junks for the last 3 or 4 days now. Then, this morning, I tried to upload the pic of the nupup and it was absolutely NO GO! Took 3 or 4 hours for me to redo, reboot, shut down and restart the system...Have I mentioned I hate puters? among other things? lololol

Meems is tired and gonna' head for the bed right now... Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember no matter how stormy there will always be a few moments of peace. Sometimes, it's just a little harder to find...

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*Thursday*2013*8*8

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home...Get in here where it's cool and less humid. Grab whatever you can find to eat or sip... I kinda went overboard the other day at the dollar store. Ask me if I loaded up on different styles of Reeses peanut butter thingys.. lolol Oh yeah and that rotten Butch was only making me worse... Usually it's the Marv causing me to get a chocolate bender going.

Ahhhh... I spent a lot of sleep time this morning with "Greensleeves" playing on the puter. A continuous loop of music by different artists... Greensleeves had always been my favoritest melody until I heard Scarborough Fair. Now, the two melodies are pretty much even steven... well, S F might be slightly ahead. Am I babbling or what? Bite your tongue, Marv!

Now, I've had a comment from one of mine... A vet who, from now on, I'm gonna call Sneaky Pete. Trust me, this is a compliment! He's the only person I know who can walk up behind me and me not know he's there. It's amazing! Tell ya a true story as an example... lolol

I am in Post Office giving the Post Master a hard time. Oh yeah... We are chatting and all of a sudden this voice comes out of nowhere above and behind me. I spun around and came eyeball to chest... Sneaky and the Post Master got hysterical even as I threatened to commit mayhem... lololol I swear to you I most always know when there is another person in the vicinity... I've only met one other who had this ability of to shut down...

OK, so I'm stocked up on my peanut butter cups... Let me introduce you to the lil new pup. Great Pyrenees. Not very old, two months maybe? I think I'm gonna call him the Possum... Him is a little sad and scared today but him did eat some bacon treat pieces and drink some water... I gave him some dry food in a bowl... Put some water in and warmed it up in the nuke machine. Gobbled it right down... I've also started some basics training. Possum arrived yesterday afternoon by special delivery to my front door. Butch was driving and his g'daughter, Samantha, delivered him to my front door. She is too sweet... Samantha, I thank you for liking me and trusting me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDVtFPqDTQU&list=PL7F00750492FDDDE0

The above link is to the series of Greensleeves... I hope it comes thru ok... enjoy...

Now, about the second pic... That is Momma wasp who lives between the storm door glass and the shade helps reduce the heat in the summer. That door faces west, and is sure will blister your skin if you stay in contact for any length of time.

Anyway, back to Momma Wasp and family. When she first decided to move to this location and started to work, I would put my finger on the inside of the glass. I would then talk to her...After a day or two, she stopped showing any alarm... She has now trained (by example, maybe?) her young'uns not to be upset by this strange lil old lady who talks to wasps. lolol I cracked up the day her first youngun' hatched out.

Momma was climbing the screen... going hunting, I guess... Well, from what I saw, she had told the young'un to stay at the nest. Momma climbs up the screen... gets about a foot away from the nest. Here comes the baby following behind. Momma discovers baby following... turns around... I can almost hear the conversation now... "didn't I tell .... ?" Baby gets back to the nest and stays there... lololol Momma continues on her way... Truth so help me... I still get tickled every time I see the nest on the door... Mothers and kids are the basics of this world! No matter what... lolol

Running outa space again...lol Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember that sometimes even the worst can be a help...

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter... meems

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get your buns in here and cool down. It's almost 80 out there right now (according to the thermo on the back porch) and the humids are at 80%! Have I mentioned I hate this weather???? ... along with a few other things... Kids, cats, dogs, husbands, horses, mules, puters... how much time ya got? I have a very long list and it, the list, is growing rapidly.

Check out the pix below... the plate is at least a foot across... found it yesterday in a used furniture place in town. The second is a paper wasp nest...bigger than a volley ball but not as big as a basketball. (message to mr.b: come on my property and welcome to my world!) The third pic is a 'Nieman Marcus' bag sent to me by Bobbi. lololol Too funny... Has the fancy name...made in China... and a $2.50 price tag at yard sale or sumfin... Cracks me up...lololol

Well, Butch picked me up yesterday morning and off to town we went. Oh dear! He is worse than I am for saying or being outrageous! I threatened to beat him to a pulp and then I told him I was gonna' tell Dotty how bad he was being. I even blushed a couple of times and as impossible as it might sound, I was left speechless. Could not think of a thing to reply. Now, this all took place in front of an audience of sorts in the prosecutor's office. I laffed so hard and had the best time... even got the prosecutor tickled...the mr.b saga still continues into next year. By the time I got home, I was very quiet and so very tired... Made a few phone calls and then crashed...zonk!

I am still looking for some young dogs or pups... Even as old as I am... I'll still take in the ones who need a home... 4 legged variety, mind you... not the two legged...lolol

Oh, I almost forgot to tell y'all that I wore my pink camo's to town... lolol Did I get some really strange looks? You betcha! I asked a few people if I was invisible and they agreed that I really faded into the woodwork. Y'all think they thot I might be dangerous???? lolololol I did have the best time.

Guess that's it for the moment. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to look around you. You too may find a paper wasps' home in one of your trees.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter... meems

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get in here and make yourselves at home... Coffee is in the fridge... Grab cup, fill, stick in nuke machine... set time for 121 and let'er rip. Be careful tho... depending on size of mug... Coffee can really be hot.

Gots to get ready shortly to go in to town... meeting with the County Prosecutor about my stolen dog... Remember last year right around Christmas time? mr.b's side been playing games all these months. Well, I'll just have to wait and see what happens at the meeting today. Butch will be doing the driving today.

Pix below: One is a pic of an Indigo Blue tomato that's about the size of a golf ball, second is same Blue against normal sized home grown tomatoes and the third, should be self explanatory... or not! The fourth pic is of Val, JCC's helper on the dig. Nice man and a hard worker. Now, lololol Gotcha JCC!! I've known this brat for years...It pains me deeply to say this, but he is a good and decent man! I just hate being nice to some people. lololol Now I'm getting tickled! I could go on, but.... MEEMS, behave yourself! Now, I'm crackin' up...

OMG! You'll never guess what I spotted yesterday late in the red maple out front. How bout a good sized paper wasp nest??? It's about the size of a basketball already. Hanging not 15 feet from the front of the house and about 10' above ground level... Should I be worried or be thankful?

Another thing, my peach tree out front is almost empty - picked clean. lolol I'm telling ya, them is good peaches. No, they weren't stolen... I've invited all the good people I know to help themselves... I don't shoot good people. (Now, mr.b just might be sumfin else tho... Not that he is a 'good people'.)

Any how, I gots ta get goin' to get myself ready for this trip to town. Take care all of mine, go in safety always. Remember to look up when you are out of doors... You just might see sumfin interesting... Oh, and remind me to tell you about momma wasp who lives between the outside shade thingy that hangs outside the storm door. Another critter tale..

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter every day... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*Monday*2013-8-5

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here and help selves to the goodies, if you can find any... Need to make a trip to the grocery store... been too busy to get there. I'M OUT OF CHOCOLATE! PANIC TIME FOR SURE! lolol

Now, y'all know that I have WATER! How bout yesterday, the thingy in the toilet tank went out! The TRUTH, so help me! G'cutter was out mowing and weed eating. Me, with my caftan hiked up around my hips, sitting on packets of toilet paper on the bathroom floor... using the adjustable side gripper pliers... removing the thingy in the tank.

I have a question to ask. How come it is that a person has to be bone thin (which I am not) and a contortionist (I gave this up for Lent a few years back) to get to the the movable parts??????????? There I am with legs wrapped around the base, trying to remove the movables by feel... I sure couldn't bend enuf to get my head down there to see. I've removed/replaced these little thingies before and, trust me, it hasn't gotten any easier over time. Later on, when G'cutter got finished with the grass... went to the hardware store and then installed the new one for me.

I'm afraid to ask "what next?", I am liable to find out... lolol

Lets' see here. Supposed to be in town tomorrow morning for a meeting. Having problems trying to find a ride. I don't want to cancel but I might need too. Another thing, I am looking for a German Shepherd pup...

Many moons ago, I always had a Shepherd... I even took Smokey to training school cause he was a little aggressive. Not to me or the family, but to outsiders. The instructor was a Vet who had trained the dogs and their handlers in the military. Vet decided Smokey didn't need any 'attack' training. He just needed to be trained to stop.
Truth again, so help me. Vet didn't like the way I was holding the lead. Put his hand on my arm and that quick, Smokey nailed him with a warning bite... no injuries but....

Anyway, I am back to German Shepherds... I cancelled but I am going to get another Pyrenees and maybe a little itty bitty dog to act as door keeper/bell. If I'm gonna be here on the mountain, I might as well be happy with my critters.

Pix below...Me in my 'statement' shirt. One of the fossils found in the creek - my pack of cigars to show scale and a painting showing one of my visual puns.

Guess that's it for now. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember never to mess with this old broad, she just might be your Karma!

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter. meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*Saturday2013*8*3

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. I know it's early/late depending on what your sleep cycle is... To me, it's getting late. First, the bad news... My Monty pup has disappeared and has been gone for two days now. And no, he is not out 'looking'. He has his own lady here at home. That makes a total now of 21 dogs that have gone, one way or another, in the last eight years...poisoned, shot or just gone. Mr.b was seen stealing a 6 month old pup that I only had for two weeks or so. Hmmmm... makes me wonder. The neighbors, the good ones, have been super supportive but are really unhappy that I am being treated badly.

Now, for the good news! I HAVE WATER.!.! Yes, real live city water! AND, (guys, don't look) ladies, I just had the greatest hot soapy bath. YES! I only took my cigars with me... no book, games, nothin'... just me and the hot soapy water... I think I soaked a while... I had some really strange water wrinkles... lololol My bad? lolol Trust me I feel twenty pounds lighter than before the bath and I definitely smell a lot better. Is this TMI or or or?????

What else... Oh, JCC and his helper came out and had the lines laid in one day. I'd never seen a Ditch Witch before and I was impressed. I had 'stand pipe' set out too. It's closer to the house and in the shade... I can turn it on and water the yard or the critters or both at the same time. I can also put a lock on it...

I took some pix of JCC and his helper, Val, but I'm using the new cam and I haven't tried to down/up load to the puter yet. Maybe I'll get to that today.. or not.

I need to thank the Brat, the Marv, for his kind thots during this waterless period. He, bless his lil heart, offered to send me some hot water. OK now this sounds so sweet until you hear about the time he shipped me a large live lobster on the Greyhound Bus.
Lobster didn't survive the trip, sorry to say. Bus lines are still trying to find the sender who gave an alias when shipping. Would you think I am making this up? Would these lovely green eyes (wink, blink, flutter) tell you a tall tale???? Oh yeah, in a NY minute! Sorry, but he started it...now this part of the statement is true... Gotcha back, Brat!

Gots to mention Bill Collier... He is also one of my brats... Did you know he sings and plays the guitar? He sent me a copy of his performance... I love it... Thanx again rotten kid...

I think I'd best get off here for now... gonna go play with the camera down/uploads. Take care all of mine and go in safety. Remember to be kind to others always, what goes round, comes round. And Karma can be a real painful situation...

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*2013*7*29 - Monday

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Well, get in here if you want to be a little warmer otherwise, come on out here on the back porch. It is deliciously cool out here. Good sleeping weather but here I am, wide awake. lolol

I did trip over the cutest FB item in the news this morning. About Thelma and Louise, the two headed turtle... out in Arizona. She has her very own FB page. I signed up and was accepted as a friend. I love it cause....

I started the Tarpin (terrepin) Rescue League here in the mountains. I am founder and charter member! G'cutter has a silent fit when he drives me places. I insist that he stop so I can 'rescue' them. It really isn't a good idea to stop on these mountain roads but I do it anyway...IF it can be done safely. The second picture below is of two little boys and the one walking away in the pic is the little girl...naturally!

As much as I don't like doing it, I bring them home to check them out and then release in a safe environment. These lil critters are a protected specie. I do the best I can to help. Otherwise, some idiots will go out of their way to run over them to kill or maim. A heads up to one who will do this terrible thing... them lil shells are sharp and can blow your tires with no trouble at all. However, a tire can be replaced. These lil guys/gals cannot.

https://www.facebook.com/thelmaandlouise.turtle?fref=ts

Now, when I lived up north, my boys would spend a lot of time in the woods that abutted the city limits. Every now and then, Glen would bring home an injured Box turtle, put it in a large aquarium on the dining room floor. We would treat it; then release it. But during the healing period, Glen would take them out back where he had fixed a 6x6 foot pen. He would sprinkle them with the hose and hand feed them. Their favorite goodie was apples... any and all kinds. Was too funny and too cute to see them take a bath/shower and then head for Glen. He was the goodie guy. One time, I think we had about a dozen injured. All survived and were taken back home and released.

And there was the time I was sound asleep early. Had to go in to work early the next day. Glen wakes me... Mom, can you??????? God love him, he had a painted turtle with a fish hook thru its tongue. Glen had paid a neighbor kid $5.oo for the turtle so something could be done to help it.

Well, I went to work. Took turtle with me. Called a nearby Vet and was told to bring it down (the road) OK, so off I went. Vet didn't charge me but he was tickled... said it took 4 of them to get the surgery done!

The painting is titled the "Yellow House"... this is for the Marvin! lolol gotcha!

The last pic is titled "Lemonade for New Orleans"...My personal comment on the abuse and treatment of the victims of the hurricane and levee failures. I even sent a nastygram to the white house on this treatment fiasco!

I'm out of space again. Sheesh! Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to care for out least lil critters, sometimes we are all they have.

Many hugs, much love, and loads of laffter... The meems of the Mountains

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*2013-7-28-Sunday

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.

Get on in here and grab some coffee or or or and and and. Let me tell y'all that it has been one rotten week... I even did the panic thing a few times. What? Me? Panic? I hope to tell you I did!

First of all, the Houdini dog went missing for 30 +/- hours. With all the rain and fog, he was bone dry when he knocked at the door. Was sooo thirsty and hungry. And can you say glued to MOM's side or feet or? Physically he wasn't hurt tho. I was sooo relieved...

Now, let me tell you I spent a lot of time on the phone...To friends, neighbors and former co-workers in Law enforcement! Oh yeah, I've had enuf.. see pic below!

Then, on Wednesday, I called the prosecutor's office about court on Thursday. I didn't have to go in because of some kind of meeting. Ok, I can handle that... and I went to take a nap. Woke up to NO WATER! Nada zilch none...no water. Called JCC.. He came out the next morning... The problem, which I thot was the pressure gauge thingy, was not the problem. It was my well pump... a submersible that hangs about 125 to 160 feet below the surface. So, my Brats, I have been without water since Wednesday.

I made hundreds of calls... trying to find repairmen... or women... No dice... sheesh! Now, you can say PANIC!!!!!!!!!

Well, I've gotten it all straightened out now. Should have ''city'' water meter hooked up this week and JCC, that rotten kid will be out Wednesday this week with a ditch witch and lay the line to the house from the meter pit. Meter pit was done a couple of years ago. Thank you, God!

A few other interesting things have happened... Found a muddy shoe print on the arm of my new wooden put-together rocker. And some one had been in my pickup overnite also. Ceiling lite came on when I opened the door. I NEVER use the lite...EVER. There's more stuff been messed with...but again, that's ok... My dogs have water from the little pond and the Water Fairies here in the area have been been keeping me supplied with water. I made a fresh pot of coffee... Scrubbed myself the best I could...Thank goodness for all my boyscout trainings... lolol And a big thank you to Anna (new name:Ditch Witch-gotcha) and Elmer. Dotty and Butch. And a special thanks to Jennifer and Edwards and crew for their help! Couldn't have made it without you all. Well, ratz! Running out of space again... Hopefully more tomorrow.

Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember that when things get really bad, you can always spritz yourself with Listerine... lololhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6gLHpGnXvc thot I'd try this... one of my fave's.

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS*2013*7*22 Monday

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home...Get in here where it's at least cool and dry. I guess I slept thru most of the bad weather today. Looks like we had almost an inch of rain while I was asleep. All the critters were in and sleeping along with me.

BTW, Monty is ok. He came in when I called from the side door yesterday. Didn't mean to give the impression he was missing. My big red goofy dog, the Newbs, went missing about a year ago now. I'm sure he has passed.

I need to ask a question here... How come it is that I can proof read a dozen times and not catch the typo or wrong word in a paragraph until I've sent a copy to everybody? Duh meems! Sheesh!

And before I get carried away again.. the pix below... First one is another of the 'Motley Crews' who reside in the courthouse... It's even/steven on who is ahead on the ''gotcha'' game... lolol Second pic was taken during the middle of the day during a torrential downpour...Our area was under a tornado watch. Then, there's the pic of the hole I shot thru the bedroom window screen. I used the .38 snub nose which was loaded with hollowpoints.

Now, don't panic... There were three guys out there to the east hunting... rabbits I guess. Well anyway, one of the men came over onto my property and had his dogs running in the uncut field. He didn't ask... nothing. Well, anyway, he was way too close to the house... 50 feet?... I got the .38... put the nose against the window screen... aimed and then pulled the trigger. I aimed into the clear ground. Well, the guy jumped. Cussed... and started yelling at me. I yelled back..."get off my property'' several times. I did hear him yell something like ''why didn't you come out and talk to us???''. Yeah, like I'm gonna go outside to warn a guy off my property. (Which is posted no trespassing, btw) Especially when there are 3 men out there with very long guns... They left but did a 'very slow drive-by' which down here in the mountains translates into a threat.

Anyway, Sherri reminds me of this event every once in a while... lolol Can you say ''giving this nice (flutter, blink the eyelashes) lil ol' lady a hard time''... Then again, she and the Marv will make these sly remarks about me looking for the dog in the Subway parking lot... lololol Now I've got the giggles...

Well, ratz! I'm out of room again but still have more words to go... Maybe tomorrow. Who knows...? Take care all of mine...go in safety always. Remember to be careful where you aim ...

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter... meems
