EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS - Sunday - 2013*7*21

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Hey, come on in... help selves and be comfy. I don't mind late visitors... kinda fun to just be gettin' up when everybody else is getting ready to go sleepy-bye. lolol Finished a pot of coffee...I keep it in the fridge. And, I made a fresh pot. As usual, just in case, when it cools, its lil pot will go in the fridge too. Well, that's lots better than putting the ice cream in the microwave.

Anna and I have swapped tales of our kitchen misadventures. She found her missing gallon of milk in the wall cupboard... and the cordless in the fridge. I put/found my car keys in the fridge one time... Can y'all say absent minded? Or sumfin? That Anna is a bad influence... trust me! lolololol And I ain't a talkin' behind her back... I say that right to her front... lololol

I have an Oh Dear! Guess who has managed to escape from the back yard? Yup, you are right. Daggone Monty dog. I guess he's dug his way out somewhere back there. When it cools off some, I'll have to go out and check the perimeter. Sheesh! I just don't want anything to happen to this monster. His personality is very much like the Newbs even to the point where he is starting to lean against me. And trust me, it's hard to stand or keep your balance when you have a 100 lb pup leaning against your leg!

Anyway, I guess he'd been out all day while I was asleep. The Houdi and Stormy watched out and took care of him. They really are a good bunch of critters. Even my trash collector likes them and said not one of my dogs has been mean or threatening. All I can do for the present is keep my eye on them and hope.

BTW, Anna saw him out in the yard today when she went to church. Told me that he, Monty, appears to be bigger than the Newbs. Monty is only 7 1/2 months old... He will keep growing until he is at least two years old. Newbie never did stop growing... Oh dear... And did anybody see the pic of the Newfoundland retriever in yesterday's FB?

Ya know, I met one of the Newfoundland critters one time when I was down at Lake Cumberland. This fur covered horse was running around...checking everything out. Spotted me and here he comes! I hunkered down and waited... He puts on the brakes to keep from running over me. I talk ... he slurps... I pet, he still slurps. I pound on his side... he still slurps. I crack up...

His owners where in the background watching this show... Stunned that I wasn't afraid of him because of his size. Now, y'all know I speak and read dog. Size doesn't matter... language does. I will say this for retrievers, they are prime con artists... Would their eyes lie to you? lolol Where do you think I learned my bad habits... lolol

Below pix... sun dog and lonely dog....

Take care all of mine and go in safety always. Remember to observe the world around you... it has much to teach.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter... meems

a hint maybe... try hitting control, then the plus key to enlarge the above...lolol

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS - Saturday - 2013*7*20

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here! I can't see because of my foggy glasses if I stand in the door way! Sheesh! I really am gonna' have to go to Storm God Central and talk to whomever is in charge! The kids are getting out of hand! Lots of heat litning and thunder the last few days.

G'cutter came out yesterday to mow between the rumbles. I usually try to sit on the front porch to watch and listen... just in case. But it was tooooo miserable out there. The wrecking crew likes to follow him around to see what's gonna happen next... well, it didn't work that way this time... They came in the house with MOM!

BUT, they stayed glued to the front door. I let them out/in/out/in. Sheesh! G'c finally got the mowing done then decided to burn the paper trash. LOLOL The Gang went with him! G'c is fussing and I am going into hysterics. Wouldn't surprise me at all to look out and see the neighborhood bear and or momma mountain lion joining in. Can y'all say ''zoo parade''? lolol I'm tellin' ya that by the time he left, I was exhausted from laffing. Maybe I should buy a movie cam or sumfin'. I still haven't played with the new cam yet so I think I'll wait...

Anyhow, I put some pix below of the 'motley' crew in Kelly's office.. then there's a pic of the Newbie (I still miss that goofy dog) trying to climb onto Becky's lap. (it didn't work - too much dog and not enuf Becky) Then there is the magnificent sunset and lastly... the (ahem) good looking lady deputy! Couldn't ask for more! lolol

Then there's the Marv.... Got a very long email from him enumerating all the good things/benefits about being male... and I DO mean a LONG email... All I have to say is it STILL takes a woman to bear and deliver! So there... Gotcha back!

Oh dear... I'm running out of space and I still have a lot of words to go...maybe tomorrow... or sumfin'...

Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to be thankful for the friends who miss you if you disappear once in a while.

Many hugs, much love and TONS of lafter your way... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS - Thursday - 2013*7*18

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home...

WHAT HAVE I DONE? LOLOLOL I swear to you all that some men are so hard to get along with. Sheesh... But, before I forget, come on in and cool off. Same as yesterday, miserable mean and hot out there.

Men: (Ladies, you're the only ones supposed to be reading this by the way!) There ain't no way to please 'em! Trust me, I know.

First of all, I get a very nice email from Sanfordian2...how am i; am I ok? I respond. Today, I get a lovely email from my buddy in Germany... Albin says pretty much the same thing. I respond.

And now I get a nastygram from the Marv. Same type questions but... (Picture below) Trust me I am giggling here... I gotta big gotcha comin' up for the Marv! As follows::::He threatens to post a ''red lite'' Tuesday nite special for my '''Candle Lit Dinners for the Guys'''! OK... I think this is a great idea! I just might even give him a .01% pay for each new customer who buys (as in believes) his ads. Now, as the Marv lives on the west coast, I have some questions to ask.......

Does this now make me an interstate business? Do I need to notify Kelly's office about the enlarged venue? The State? The Feds? The CIA? should I reserve a suite at Guantanamo and wait for the barge to come in? I could go on but I have a bad case of the giggles right now... Ya know, I can be funny sometimes...

GOTCHA, BRAT! Woo hoooooo.... This is almost as good as the outhouses I gave for Christmas.

Anyway, I WAS gonna' continue the story about my last trip to town but this came up instead... You know me, go with the flow/floe! lololol

Take care all of mine... go in safety always. Remember, you can forward any/all of the News to family and friends ... especially those in the military. I watched two of the Coast Guard programs on the Weather Channel last nite and cried a lot. Way to go mine!

Many hugs, lots of love and lafter your way.... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS - Wednesday evening - 2013*7*17

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

I know, it's been a while but get your buns in here where it's cool. Iced tea... How bout raspberry flavored? Let me tell you that you know it's unlivable out there when you open the storm door and your eyeglasses frost over from the heat and humids...even the dogs want in... and wonder of wonder, they stop wrestling . Sprawl their bodies on the linoleum because it's cool! I just might join them.. Altho, Monty prefers the bathroom floor... the cool is concentrated. I'd join him, but he takes up the whole floor! Sheesh...

My old cam gave up and I finally got a new one... not the most expensive, but I think it works. lolol I haven't figured out all the aps yet. Will I ever???? I want to take some pix of the Monty to show how big he's gotten. Another goofy type dog!
He's eaten a pair and a half of my mocs... unstuffed two filled comforters all over the house (You should have seen how much I raked from under the bed... The dust bunnies are threatening to strike .. AGAIN)..Walks on me when I'm sleeping... and then gives my face a bath...shreds the paper towels...rearranges my yarn. I now have three shades of purple and a large white wrapped around the living room furniture...... and him look sooooo innocent with them "what, who me, I love you MOM" eyes. At least he doesn't chew on my toes!

Still fussing with the USDA... Last two house payments were raised... People, PLEASE, whatever you do, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THE USDA!!!! It is never ending... Still don't understand what they don't understand about "no paycheck" and I am "retired". Numerous families in my area have been forced to leave their homes and/or have their credit ruined... But I fight and ramble on... The only thing that gives me hope and why I hang on here is my state Rep in Congress... Congressman Rogers. The gals in his office are wonderfully kind and helpful... Thanx so very much all of you...

Then's there's mr.b. My opinion he is a contamination to the planet. Because of his activities, I now have to worry about a possibility of a major fire to the west of me... can you say 'I am downwind' of the area he seems to be dumping his cuttings? He didn't show up for the court date last month either. But, that's ok...

I had the best time when I went into the courthouse last month. First thing inside the building, I stopped at Kelly's office... Not a whole lot of space so it was a little crowded... There were deputies, Bill the Constable, Sheila, Matt (my witness). Naturally, I gave everybody a hard time. lolol Would I do sumfin like that? Oh Yeah!

Well, ratz... I'm running out of room. Take care and go in safety all of mine. Remember the good stuff... it helps.

many hugs, much love and lots of lafter every day... meems

2013*5*4-Saturday Derby Day!
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME

Get your buns in here and get dried off. Sheesh! It's a muddy track today. Race is about to start in 10 or so minutes. Ya know, at one time I could name the winners (3 top dogs) every Derby. Then I mentioned this to my long time ago ex. He said MONEY and that was it! I was not supposed to make money with this gift and I was NEVER able to pick a winner again. Could do the same thing with the trotters and pacers. My brain knew what to look for somehow. Seets, my big red horse) was a good teacher... lolol

WOW! AND THE ORB WON! Fandamtastic!

Let's see now, back down to earth...sorta'. lolol Got a call from the Marv a day or so ago. He's back from his trip to Hawaii. I'm still hiding in the fall out shelter cause I know he's gonna' get me over my Gekko remark! that one was a biggie... bout the best I've ever done. Starting to giggle.

Then today, I get a call from the DDBrat! Another sheesh! All down hill from there! Just because I saw an mini outhouse... sent to him with a note saying it reminded me of him, DDBrat, because he is full of it! lololol Now I AM giggling! However, he says he's found the perfect gift for me. Oh dear! Will I live thru this or not????? lololol

What else? Went grocery shopping last Sunday and then G'cutter came out Thursday? Or Friday? to mow. Anyway, he took me to the hardware store and guess what I found while looking for sumfin else? Light bulbs for my "Late nite dinners" flag. lolol A packet of two Christmas tree size bulbs for under a Dollar! I'm back in business! lolol (Sherri reminds me every once in a while to keep my reputation in working order) lolol Whatever that may mean! Now I'm on the floor!

I've decided I really have some one of a kind friends! In their ways, they are all so loveable...but really strange. Laffin' out loud now! And then there's the Little Jake. What can I say... Another rotten kid!

re: the pix... lolol the cartoon says it all. and the two of the black snake? I found him tangled up in a throw rug in the doorway to the hall. I stepped on him over nite not realizing what was there. (I thought it was a dog toy) Then I stepped over him three or four times while I got ready to go to town. Oh yeah!

I discovered him on my last trip thru the door. Hmmmm! Partly belly up. Playin' possum? Dead? Nudged him with my foot. Nothing. Reached down and picked him up behind his head. Carried him out to back porch...That is a 4 foot ruler. Boards and space = 6". Then there was the time I found twq blue tailed skinks in the bathtub.

I think that had better be it for now... lolol Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember that Mother Nature always has the upper hand. lolol

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here and dry off... coffee's hot and I have the makin's for several types of tea. Am I being nice or what? Bite your tongues, Brats... The Marv, Sherri, Doc... Ooopsie, I will run out of space in a hurry if I start naming all of you out there...lolol I CAN be nice once in a while.

The Marv is at it again... Making notes in his log book about my minor goofs... This time it concerned how long I've lived here in this house... lolol 13 years? I lied... lolol I finally decided I've been here 8 years next month? Doesn't seem like that long. The only reason I can remember this date? Three people were shot and killed just about the time I went past the driveway which went down over the hill... off Rte. 30 on my way in to town.

Another time, again on my way into town. Heading toward Rt. 30, I made a left off 1503 onto the road to take me where I wanted to go. It wasn't till I tried to get home that I found a roadblock at the church. A man had been murdered... Again, at/about the time I went past earlier. Is it any wonder that I go packing all the time? Cops were looking for the shooter and had a 5 mile perimeter set up. Guess whose house what inside the perimeter???? You may have 5 guesses here but the first six don't count!

And now, we get to the ticks! Saw the first one in January of all things. Fair warning from Mother Nature things were gonna be bad this year. And, they are! Poor Houdini ... he has been covered with them already this year. I check the critters out whenever they come back in the house. I found one overstuffed tick on the floor the other day.

Being the curious soul that I am, I brought it back to the apartment and started checking it out under the microscope. I flopped it over on its back. Interesting things started to happen. Tried to upright itself. I swear, it looked like it had a built in hydraulic system. One side would deflate while the other bulged.... back and forth while its legs were flailing. Also the lower half of the belly would inflate/deflate. Nothing helped it apparently cause it was still on it's back when I put it into the jar of paint thinner...Now, aren't you glad you read this?

Guess that's it for now. Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember to always be prepared. Bad things CAN happen to good people and there is nothing we can do to stop it! And DO say thank you to all the emergency responders all over the world. PS. Dispatchers, I was with you all the way!

Many hugs, much love and some lafter daily... meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME. Get out here on the porch and grab a seat... get comfy. Little cloudy maybe but it IS a little warmer than it has been. Got into the low 80's today... and a nice breeze out of the west.

I spent most of the morning on the phone...doing this and taking care of that. I called Faye, a friend just to chat for a minute or two. I always start out our conversations by telling her that I want her dog. A little dachshund, mixed color, and poor baby is deaf. His name is Buckeye. Her reply is always: "No, you cannot have my dog but you can have my husband" I come back with "nope, I don't need another man! I've learned the hard way that men are too hard to housebreak and train!" We both crack up laffing... then we go off to other topics.

I happened to mention that Buckeye might just be a little bit spoiled????? Nah! But then Faye tells me about a time when she and her hubby were both flat on their backs with the flu or sumfin. Buckeye had plenty of food and water. About midnite this one evening, Buckeye started fussing, bouncing off the side of the couch where Faye was. He wouldn't stop... Hubby, asks what's he want? Faye tells him that Buckeye wants some bologna! lolol I can just hear it now! Hubby gets up... goes to the fridge... aha! the Bologna. Hubby gives it to critter... critter dines on his favorite and peace reigns supreme. Now, you tell me is this is one spoiled rotten dog? lololol I rest my case!

I have an oh dear ... third pic is of Delilah who is obviously investigating the drop off on the far side of the bed. Well, Delilah is a mommy again. I now have at least 3 kittens residing in my bedroom closet. Two tigers and a black... Eyes are open and they were not happy when I grabbed them to check them out. lolol One of them hissed and I cracked up. 'Lilah was sprawled by my thigh while I brought each kitten out into the light. I'd pet her and she just stayed there. She trusts me with her babies... Big compliment, thank you very much. The black kit's fur is black on the ends but the inner (root base) part is a pale gray. No stripes. Does anybody know if this coloration has a name?

And finally, I've completed all the paper work for the USDA and readied a copy of all to send to my rep in Congress. May I mention that I really, REALLY hate this? I cannot tell you how stressful this is? No warnings that this would happen. I ought to send them a bill for the stress, time, paper, ink, postage and effort that went into this! I wonder what it is that the USDA doesn't understand about the word "retired"? Bad girl, Meems! But I have discovered that I was the poster girl (the first) for the elderly. Oh yeah! Just remember ALL of you to keep all the paperwork...and I do mean all!

Guess that's it for now... Take care all of mine and go in safety always. Remember to appreciate the small fuzzy warms that come into your life. They will give a great inner peace.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS SUNDAY 2013*4*7 0200 HOURS

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME

First of all, let me get this matter straightened out... What I called/named the "Circle" of Friendship group should really read "RING of Friendship". My error...my dyslexia in action. Truly, I apologize. What was printed in networking site was Ring! My brain read it as Circle. Must mention my error was called to my attention by DDBrat who is also Dyslexic.

However, DDB's heads-up alert spelled 'Friendship' as Freindship. I can understand this error also. We overlook misspellings, missing words, even phrases when we read. I think I am being nice here, DDB, but I wouldn't bet on it. Anyway, I spent hours zeroed in on and looking for the misspelled Friendship. I finally discovered the Ring/Circle thing. What a relief. I'll try this: Ring of Friendship.com ....

I work very hard to avoid errors like this but don't be surprised if this should happen again... The Marv brat, I am sure, is very busily making an entry in his emom log book. He ALWAYS makes a note when the Meems screws up. lolol He just loves it when I am wrong about sumfin. lolol I do the same. I think this is called a reciprocal trade agreement.

Another thing I must mention...I've decided to read the news (puterwise) until I have written the Mountain News. So very discouragingly sad most of the time that even I can't find anything amusing to talk about.

Lets see here... The pix below... lolol I guess the Apple one could be called Addiction for lack of a better thot...a perpetual cycle ongoing. The second pic... of the whimsical stool? I found it in an outlet/used furniture store and fell in love immediately. I have it safely placed on a high spot in the living room so the pups can't get to it. And finally: a passing of a old, old craft.

JR would hand make turkey callers made from the birds' bones. He heard about me from somewhere. Contacted me to ask if I could paint outdoor scenes on them... New field for me and I loved telling him yes! This caller is one of his works. Poor guy is now in a nursing home...unable to use his hands. This makes me so sad. He was a 'good' type outdoorsmand. He and his craft are sorely missed.

An additional piece of info... I've been posting my art works at the request of my g'daughter who has centered her education in the Arts field.

I guess that's it for tonite. Take care, all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to appreciate and thank those who are mastering their chosen crafts.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter everyday. meems

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS...2013*4*6 ZERO DARK 30
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Make yourselves to home. Nice clear nite. So very quiet outside and a really good time of day to have some hot chocolate with mallows. NO CALORIES! Would these lovely green eyes lie or pull your leg???? Oh yeah, in a New York Minute! lololol

Guess who is back on midnites again? Listening to Celtic musics. I was invited to join a very interesting, to me, group. The Circle of Friendship. Some really interesting peoples! There's an Arthurian group and one titled the Celtic Connection. I so enjoy Celtic music. Just joined so I will run around there tomorrow to see what else might be on there... Oh, there is one group who plays around in ancient Egypt. (Another interest of mine) I can see where I am going to get into a lot of trouble - timewise!

Was beautiful out today. I even made it out to the mailbox... Of course, the Houdini jumped the fence again. All the work G'cutter did last week to keep him in didn't last two days. Now, Stormy is jumping out too. How come it is that critters can unlearn all the good habits in a heart beat? Especially when another critter shows them how?

Got a call from that Brat of mine, Becky, late this evening. She's telling me about her litter of pups. Oh dear! She has a pic of two of the little ones... I think I have fallen in love with the chubby one. lolol She tells me he is slow moving and sooooo wrinkled he can't see. Well, yes he can but he is cute just the way he is. Layed back and easy going. Oh dear...

What else. Oh, the monster pup, Monty. I heard this strange sound the other evening. There he was... over by the closet... chewing on something. He was chewing on a manilla envelope that was lined with plastic wrap. He was busily chewing and popping the bubbles. I cracked up... them little needle teeth punching holes thru everything. Didn't tear anything but gee, there must be a hundred or so holes in the envelope. Becky said that you can buy that bubble wrap in a roll now. I don't think I'll go there... lolol

Back to the beautiful day again. Was 64o and sunny. Was terribly foggy during the morning hours. But being outside later for a few in the sunlite was wonderful. I heard, then saw one of my BBSBs. Didn't get flashed, Darn it! Must have really been dry upstairs cause I didn't spot any contrail... just heard him/her for the most part. WAs almost out of site when I finally saw a very short contrail. Go in safety mine!

Guess that had better be it for now. I think I am getting hungry. Pondering on what to fix... maybe scrambled eggs? Toast? or fried biscuits.....

Take care all of mine.. go in safety always. Remember to look for the good every day. It's there somewhere.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter meems
